I clicked the link but I have no idea if I am registered or not. I am following the page, "liked" it, and bookmarked it. Does that mean I am registered? Good luck, and let me know if I can help.

Signed up! Really, really looking forward to this. The Polerouter is my second favorite watch, after the Speedy. (Well, and my 2451-7 321!!) 😀

Those of you that have signed up to the newsletter will hopefully have received an update on our Polerouter book project yesterday.

The pandemic has not made things easy but we've soldiered on and have captured over sixty watches so far including some truly rare and stunning examples. With the world opening back up a little, we are hoping to use 2022 to do the travelling we had always planned in order to meet with other collectors and then to finish the book as soon as we can in 2023.

We’re really grateful to those collectors who have already offered to help us and we look forward to meeting with you. We know there are some spectacular watches out there so please reach out if you have something that you think others would enjoy seeing and you are keen to contribute to the project.

We created some Polerouter illustrations as a project during lockdown. It really is amazing how much you learn about a watch when you set out to draw it! We thought that Polerouter enthusiasts might enjoy them and so have created a poster and a postcard set showcasing twelve key Polerouter models. These are available on our website thepolerouter.com with a donation to Vaccinaid for each print sold.

There will be more frequent updates via the newsletter over the coming months, so please sign up to the newsletter via the website if you would like to keep abreast of our progress.

Best wishes
Andrew & Mattia

I go to New York approximately twice a decade and that happens to coincide with my next trip 😎.

Our Polerouter book should hopefully be available to buy in the autumn.

I never thought we would amass enough material for 400 pages but after four years, the finishing line is finally in sight.

For those who aren't regular Instagram users, I've attached a few highlights from the material recently posted on Instagram.

Thanks to everyone for your support.

More details to follow.

Pictures look great. I've signed up and looking forward to seeing the book!
That's very kind, thanks. We decided at the outset to use the same professional photographer for all images in the book to achieve consistent and high quality results and ended up shooting over 120 different watches.

But I think it's the research and reference material that really makes the book - more to come on that!

Still a thrill finding watches that we all know and love in period catalogues and brochures.

That's interesting - having seen one before, my first thought that the horizontal band was something applied retrospectively to conceal damage to the dial. You live and learn.

Do any of them have the /27 reference on the back?

Not to my knowledge.

There were a number of later Polerouter models that were assigned a full reference including a sub-reference without this full reference being present on the case back.

These technical drawings, that had been captured on microfilm, are just two of many that we found stored on a roll in a small aluminium tin.

The images date to between 1955 and 1960 and show how the microtor movement evolved over that period. Of course, the very best images were saved for the book.

Not only does the book include some truly special Polerouters, this one in white gold supported by the original archive record, but it is also a celebration of bracelets with literally hundreds of different gold and steel bracelets pictured.

This looks amazing... I recognize a few of the gorgeous pieces in the sample pics. Hopefully there will be more than a few treatments of the Polerouter Subs, which in my opinion are some of the best-looking sport watches from that era (1960s-70s in particular).

Our book was written with the support of Universal Genève S.A. who allowed us unique access to their archives. As a result, the book features previously unseen archival material including technical drawings, catalogues and production records. It was an absolute honour and a privilege for us to have been able to visit the Universal archives in Geneva and we will remain forever grateful to Universal Genève S.A. for that opportunity and for their important contribution to our book.

The book will be available to pre-order on 1st Sept via our website with all pre-orders receiving free worldwide shipping. Further details to be announced when the book is launched.

There will be two versions including a limited edition with 150 numbered copies pictured below.
