Paris spent $1.5 billion to make the Seine safe to swim in, and here we are. By next spring Parisians will be legally allowed to swim in the river for the first time in 100 years. Oh boy.
Turd dodging.....a new Olympic event!

Yeah, it was incredible .. Increasing each world record by tiny increments, so that he can pull them out of the bag as and when he wants, he's very shrewd, I also think it has something to do with his sponsorship deal馃憤

$50k every time he sets a new record. Bayou ingenuity.

Men鈥檚 1500m final was incredible. Hocker came out of nowhere at the end to take the gold.

Same here!

Li Fabin should easily win the gold in Men's 61 and Hou Zhihui on the women's 49. Hopefully the US can grab a bronze in the M61 and silver in the W49.

The W49kg session was incredible. Hou Zhihui nailing the last lift to win by 1kg after she missed it on her 2nd attempt. Not often she shows any emotion on the platform but afterwards she was pumped.

Really good final in 80kg (I think that ~ light-heavy) men's boxing: Khyzhniak of Ukraine just shaded it, probably on sheer workrate and aggression over Oralbay of Kazakhstan. Great work from two classy fighters.

My wife is laughing at me because I'm constantly annoyed at the stupid boxes that the athletes are holding on the podium. It just looks so tacky.

The way she barely paused before going for the jerk was bananas.

The Olympic athletes are given this poster, which a guest version can be purchased here. The athletes do receive a unique version of this poster that cannot be purchased.

I emphasized Olympic, as this poster is only one half of the entire scene. There are two posters, which can work independent of each other, or work together to create an entire scene.

The Paralympic athletes will receive a poster as well, which is essentially the second half of the scene, and a guest version can be purchased here.

Placing the two prints together will complete the entire scene

Edit: clarification

A rolled-up poster, apparently. Suitable for framing. 馃檮

These are posters that you cannot buy, as they have a seal embossed on them in the colour of the medal that was won by the athlete. The medal winners are also given another small gift in a small ceremony at the athletes village, which also had a corresponding colour associated to the medal that they won.

Giving gifts at the medal ceremony along with the medals, is quite common. Often it is some flowers, but can be plush toys, and in this case the posters that only medal winners get.

I did forget to make that distinction in my post above as those linked for sale are guest/memorabilia versions. I have watched several athletes unbox their posters and the version they receive with the embossing is pretty cool. I like the gift and the whimsical representation of the games.

I'm sure it's a nice gift, I just think it looks really cheesy and awkward for them to be holding what visually appears to be a cardboard box while they are standing on the podium. On multiple occasions, I've seen athletes awkwardly trying to figure out what to do with the box as they want to wave or applaud, etc. in their big moment in front of the camera. They sometimes end up tucking it under their arm. Just my opinion.
