I've recently had the opportunity to acquire one which should arrive (fingers crossed) in the next couple of days or so. .As a result I have had a sudden increase in interest and wanted to revive this thread specifically to update @qazwsx1 table of known examples in an attempt to get more input from the collective OF community. Since the original 9 included in the table I have been able to identify 5 more. The table below with notes to follow:

A couple of things to consider: mine could well be one of the 9 in the original chart. I wont know until I have it in hand and get the entire serial number. I think its important to list serial numbers in there entirety as there are already 2 watches in the chart that start with 13,727,xxx. One from watch charts and one from antiquorum. How do we know they aren't the same watch?

Matt MtV has a black dial hobnail with arrow head - the only black dial known. That for sure makes 10.

The other watch with the same first 5 serial numbers as yours was received by another member who wishes to remain anonymous for the time being. I confirmed the original @qazwsx1 is still in his possession so its safe to assume there is indeed at least another one which makes for sure 11.

There is a known steel on steel example that was definitely not listed in the original chart. This gentleman is on instagram. That makes for sure 12. For those whos interest is peaked I have spoken with him and the dibs list on that one is longer than the line to renew your license at the DMV.

The last 2 that I have found so far are owned by the same person who I talk with on a semifrequent basis on Facebook. His english isnt the best so its hard to fully understand and communicate. According to my understanding of what he has told me they are both solid 18kt gold examples. He does not have the serial numbers on his so we are unable to discern if these are already included in the list or not.

Id be curious for others input. Talking to Mr. Hobnail himself @MtV and other knowledgeable collectors like @seekingseaquest it is believed that the original number of hobnail dials produced is in the couple of hundreds. I have also read that others use a 10% principle as a general rule of them of how many vintage examples can be expected to have remained some 70 years or so after the fact. That would put the expected number to be around 20. If these additions are all novel than we at 15 currently. Curious for everyone's thoughts!

None of us know (or will know) how many were made or how many exist, but it鈥檚 a lot more than the 15 or however many a few people have been able to track down in the past 9 months.

I鈥檓 aware of at least one more steel on steel hobnail btw, not going to advertise it though 馃榿

Somehow mine had escaped this thread..

The list was specifically for hobnail with arrowhead markers. I should have prefaced with that. My apologies. Yours had other dial configurations correct?
