·Hello all members!!
In my opinion, hobnail is the one of the rarest and the most desirable dial’s pattern for most collectors, especially combination with the arrowhead markers.
I can tell from my research that nearly all of the hobnail constellation with the arrowhead markers will be ref.2652 or ref.2652 2699.
As discussed with @MtV (master of the hobnail😁), all of three hobnail in ref.2648 that he saw weren’t the arrowhead markers.
I can found only one black hobnail with the arrowhead markers in ref. 2782 with the steel case (pic from @MtV ), this one was serviced right now.
Recently, I had the opportunity to pickup and I would like to share a duo of gold cap and 18k hobnail constellation in my collection.
The gold cap is ref.2652 with cal.354 and the 18k watch is ref.2652 2699 with cal.354.
Pics of the 18k case with a correct thick decagonal crown.
Pics of the gold cap case:
I try to collect information for all of the hobnail constellation with the arrowhead markers as shown in the table.
Can I make an observation about both fonts that can be correct?
I notice that “M” in CHRONO”M”ETRE can be straight or slant M
Also, if you see the slant M, it means that you can easily see the word “SWISS” and “MADE” at both side of the arrowhead markers (at 6 o’clock). However, for the straight M, the word “SWISS MADE” will stay below the 6 o’clock marker and it’s often difficult to notice.
Finally, My wrist shot
— 18k
— Gold cap
— Duo of both hobnail
Thanks all omegaforum’s member for the comment and please share yours, if it’s not included in my table.
Best,
