Personally I think once you own one they have a very different feel to most watches due to their shape and design and for me I really like them

Well, looks like it's running, so good job on the fix, but at some point it should get a full service.

BTW I actually find the break at the arbor to be more common than out at the tang end. Last broken mainspring I had in the shop last month was in a manual wind Panerai, near the arbor:

It's a hobby for me but like most of us here is an expensive one when we are spending ££££ a year expanding our collection and out minds on the watches history . I'm not one for selling my watches but I have done in the past to purchase something better. its not the value I look at its the collectability factor hence at present I don't own a flightmaster this might change very quickly .

Aha - I took you up on "Should I be purchasing one as an investment for later on in life ?"- Thinking you meant value.

Finally got the 910 back from my watchmaker last Thursday.

    home_image.4731678.jpg

A replacement crystal was sourced, but I decided to keep the watch in as close to original condition as possible. Fortunately, the movement was in great shape; other than a mainspring, no other parts were needed.

The comments so many have made about the 910 wearing well are on the money. I can't get over how 'right' it seems when it's on my wrist.

    Thrilled,

Just back from Simon and the team at STS.

I went for a full service, new crystal, new seals, but kept the crowns/pushers original, and left the case untouched.

Really happy with how nice this thing looks and wears after a good clean and a new crystal, and comforted knowing that mechanically it's up to scratch! :)

I love how faded this one has gone... it just feels like a real life, used, tool watch.

It's actually just gone back to STS this morning.

The touch up job on the GMT hand (a chunk of lume had fallen out), isn't right to my eyes, so they're going to take it all out, and relume with some dark brown material all on one level.

Correct. 1159 bracelet for both 910 and Mk II, with 155 and 154 end pieces, respectively.

Yours is a later 911. I'm not absolutely certain about this, but it's possible 911s came with different bracelets. The 910 is a different story - those should all have 1159 bracelets as original issue, to the best of my knowledge, as did the early Mk IIs.

    Best,

Just arrived back with the re-filled GMT hand back in place.

The bracelet has 311 stamped on the end links, and No.12 on the clasp - a google search indicates this is a US market specific bracelet...

Very nice!! Picture of the bracelet. Where did you get the interesting information about this bracelet being US market specific? Thanks

A few threads around the place, but @dsio comment here jumps to the front of my search history - https://omegaforums.net/threads/help-identifying-speed-pro-bracelet.129/

Nothing solid, but there seem to be a lot of them with "USA Made" stamped into them - this one does not.

I've put in for an extract, but the watch come out of an estate in Oklahoma, where the daughter of the original owner traded it at a Rolex dealer... so I suspect sold into the US.

Then through a circuitous route of other peoples business trips, it made it's way to London. ;)

This could all, of course, be nonsense! :D

    Apologies for the bad photos:
