It is time for this iconic watch to have its own thread. Post your Flightmasters and then we will dicuss minute differences in dial versions until we create a bubble. Then we all sell our Flightys, cash in - and sit in the galleria in Milano drinking grappa until we fall over...

I bought mine from the original owners son. First version "no dots dial, all yellow pushers" and the corresponding bracelet. I expect this in the long run - and if the right sites give the Flightmaster some attention - to give me at least three months of grappa, cigars and immoral living when retired.

Used it on a mesh for a while.

Correct early 1159 bracelet and 155 endpieces:

He has probably never had grappa but I guess he is no stranger to vodka.

This is the box the family swore it came in. First owners wife bought the watch for her husband - for his 40: th birthday. He was a medical doctor that dreamt of being a pilot and became one. He changed his career and flew professionally.

Just scored mine last month . . .

    DSC02448.jpg

. . . from the original owner, who bought it at a PX in Thailand when he was in the service during the Vietnam war.

He's the third guy from the left . . .

    IMG_0948.JPG

. . . standing in the front row. Not a pilot at the time; he was in electronics maintenance. He learned to fly while in the Air Force, though, and became a commercial pilot after leaving the service. The Flightmaster was on his wrist while flying until he changed careers in '83, and then sat in a drawer for decades, taken out occasionally for winding. He decided to sell last year so that another person could enjoy it.

At my watchmaker's now for service, and I hope to be wearing it by this coming weekend.

    Cordially,

    Art

Superb example there :) I was for a long time looking for a nice 910 but it is one of those that has always seemed to elude me.

Here´s my 911, with the yellow cadmium hands it´s the 911 version I prefer. I somehow don´t think I´ll get the full 3 months of doing the things that I really like to do out of this one as historically speaking I do have a particularly high tolerance for booze, smokes and immorality :D

    2015-06-22 09.51.57.jpg

I had a pair at one point but that was pure self indulgence so I let the one on the right go. Both from the original owners, the one I kept was ground crew for the RNLAF and the other I forget exactly but also something ground crew related but in the commercial sector.

Mine, recently acquired from a member. I like to think of it as deliciously flawed but will clearly bring less grappa and immoral living than the ones above. That's okay, I love it and wear it with no worries!

    Well, I have tiny wrists . . .

. . . but that never stopped me from having fun.

My early 910 which was recently serviced by Al. The dial was what clinched this one for me, sometime love it, sometimes not so much when compared to the black / grey of other 910 dials

@styggpyggeno1 -- it appears that you're telling us you are now in possession of Cosmonaut Aleksaey Leonov's Flightmaster. The same Leonov who is the veteran of the Voskhod 2 and Apollo-Soyuz spaceflights. During the Voskhod 2 mission Leonov made the very first spacewalk. Should you decide to sell the watch, your retirement and immoral living could begin sooner than you had ever imagined :)

Here's some pretty sweet footage of Leonov's spacewalk, which pre-dated Ed White's spacewalk by about 2-1/2 months.

No - but that would have been nice. Leonov being one of the really hard men of space. At one time something happened to his suit while outside the capsule and it got inflated - he could not get in - the door was suddenly too small. He poked a hole in the suite and got in. That is hard.

No, I bought mine a long time ago and the original owner was probably a very gifted man being both a doctor and a pilot - but no Leonov I guess...

Let's not forget about one of the great feature, the multicolor pushers! Don't we just love that?
I like to wear mine on a black period Corfam, it is a great combo and makes the colors pop even more.
