Let‘s put some real life against the super stunning 910 ... unfortunately ...
a (hopefully) all genuine, but properly worn 911 / 145.036 - with delrin-brake. New glas is waiting already to get installed.

This old fella today ....
I’ve got a seiko coming in that has a similar case shape. The 70’s had great design.

found something odd in the flightmaster dials

you might have a SWISS or SWIS ....MADE

using some of prevoius post photos, and my own ones too

see SWISS

now SWIS

SWISS no dot

SWISS, no dot

now SWIS and dot

see how it looks like wihen the dot is present

see the alignment of the two Ts with the second mark

SWISS and dot need the Ts to be in half the second mark

All the .036 and regular .026 dials are all "swiss". The dots cover the last s and Omega seems not to have been too concerned or careful about the fact that when the dials have dots they cover the last s because of the the close spacing between the s and m. .013, and transitional .026 dials have wider spacing between the s and m so whether or not they have dots you can see "swiss"

For those in the know is this an example worth chasing? No box or papers but looks clean but I can't pick out a redial or such at the best of times and these models seem to be very difficult to find.

It’s filthy and i would say is well overdue a service - so factor that into any buying decision... they are not cheap.

I think you have to always assume a service will be needed, so count on $600+ for that. The rest of the watch looks ok. It's hard to see if the pushers are service replacements from the angle of the photo, but the color seems right for originals. Not sure whether the running second hand is right. The case also appears OK from the pics. The mvt. # dates it to about 1973, and the pre-delrin mvt. confirms pre 1974. Looks to be an original correct 1162 band. It all depends on price.

Also here, for the Flightmaster aficionados, just a short message to point out we're looking into the nitty-gritty and most important practical details how the Flightmaster ( & Speedmaster ) got behind the Iron Curtain in 1972...
US astronauts didn't use the Flightmaster, but Omega's pilotwatch was given to Soviet-Russian cosmonauts and used on 3 Russian missions between 1974 and 1979...
However the Flightmaster is best known for its use by the cosmonauts during ASTP-training February 1974 to May 1975...
Lots more soon
