Not all Flightmaster boxes are identical

Something I didn't know till I take some time to compare them a bit closer.

I knew I had two different boxes, as the lining is different inside but today I took some time to study them a bit closer and found out there are other small differences that make them interesting enough to make some pictures and open a thread.

For the ease of reading, I will show them one by one and then focus on spotted differences.

Let's call the first box Small logo, satin lining.

And the second Big logo, corduroy lining.

In fact, the boxes have a different lining inside. To be honest, the satin lining would have my doubts if I wasn't sure about my source. I sourced this one from the very first owner. An old man who bought it in 1970 for his own birthday.

Corduroy lining is more common. Still it's getting really hard to find such a box in a decent conservation condition.

I also found out that one of my boxes (corduroy) is marked SWISS MADE below, however the other is not.

Finally, something difficult to notice even if you put the boxes aside : the 惟 logo is not identical :

It's getting really obvious if you compare them this way :

Are there any other variations out there? Do you see any other differences I couldn't notice?

Another corduroy box.

The shape and size of the logo seem to match with my corduroy box. 馃憤

The picture of the flightmaster seems to be positioned lower on the box with the small logo.

Habillage was applied by hand back then - I believe they all have some millimeters difference..

Are these cardboard boxes ?
What's the exact size and how much do these differ with the well-known cubic crater box ?
