Happy to show you how to click the link if you're having trouble.

Just let me know what device you're using. 👍

Hahaha, thank you, but there is no problem.
I only find a ,IMHO, tricky way of sending traffic to his site.

I don’t think it’s a tricky way at all. He’s a well regarded expert in watches and I very much appreciate the notification here of an additional article (all of which are well written).

To post here, he’d have to re-insert all the images and the formatting wouldn’t be the same. Not as easy as just copying and pasting.

It is my understanding that neither Robert Jan or Fratello post these links, they are posted by the admin of the site. Which is why the whole article is not posted here. I believe it is done because a lot of people here read Fratello anyway so it's convenient to have the speedytuesday column one click away. Atleast I think I read that one time someone else asked the same question a while back.

My 5 that I missed out on
ST1, ST2, CK2998 blue panda, A17 45th, Hodinkee 10th. There was no way I was ever going to get a Snoopy 2 so I don't really count as missing out on that one. The one I really wanted was the ST1 but oh well.

In retrospect, I would not have sold the Soyuz meteorite. I sold because it appears to me to have a slight haze due to sapphire crystal. I should have swapped the case with a hesalite. No worries, I'm over it now.

For me it's the first Snoopy and the last Alaska Project. I got into watches in 2009, but by 2011 my budget had shrunken considerably. And, Like Robert-Jan, I figured that I could get either of these watches "later." But the prices shot up a few years later. Now they're priced well beyond what I'm willing to pay. I like the two Speedy Tuesdays, but they're in the same boat. I might try for the 3rd ST next year. Maybe...

I remember seeing the Soyuz and thinking that it was a shame to hide the Gibeon's widmanstatten patterns like that. I have a couple of Lüm-Tecs that I had customized with gibeon dials. It's just the three hands with nothing to clutter them up, and the dials look fantastic.

True it is set up to be posted here by the forum at the same time it is posted on Fratello
To me that’s a scoop in my book and well done by both Fratello and the admin’s here......👍

Only 2 of his top 5 are on my list; the Albino and Japanese Racing. Not that I would throw the other 3 out of bed, would love to own any of them, but not on my regret list. The one I am kicking myself for currently is the simple FOIS, why I didnt grab one when they were running at $3800 and below is beyond me. ::facepalm1::

I think the humble 3570.50.00 is the one watch I am glad I never missed out on.

For this I don’t think I have missed out on anything Speedmaster wise.....

I will not mention the OB, but a few years back, I was at an OB when the 005 model was released. The 3570.50 at retail was out of reach, but they'd just jacked the price up about another $800-1000. I asked the sales guy what justified the price increase. Here's a rough transcript of the conversation

Him: "Well, we have this fancy box now."
Me: "Why do I care about a box that will be shoved into the closet?"
Him: "Well, you get a loupe and a tool"
Me: "I have a loupe, and I'm pretty sure I can get a similar one for under $20. And that tool's gonna be another $20. Maybe"
Him: "We have these fancy NATO straps"
Me: "That's another $50 or so."

Some time later I was talking with a sales guy at a different OB (might have been Miami or Philly) and he elaborated that there were improvements to the lugs and bracelet. Which you would think the first guy would have mentioned. He also said that Omega used extra-fancy nylon for its NATO straps, but he didn't try to tell me they were worth hundreds of dollars.

Just to clarify, Robert-Jan doesn’t post these himself, I set up an auto post script that pulls Omega related posts off Fratellowartches and posts them here for discussion 10 years ago when this site had 20 members.

RJ and Fratello were the first major site to shout us out and support us by referring their readers here so they helped us into being and we keep Fratello as the only site we cross post news from like this out of appreciation for their support in the early days, and because their content tends to be really good.

Correct, it is a RSS feed. Everything we publish in our 'Speedy Tuesday' category, is being loaded into the forum as a new thread.

I debated adding the gold Apollo XI to my list, except at over $30,000, it was never in my budget. Now if I'd bought shares of Gamestop on the same day they announced the watch, that would be a different story...😗
