Took this beauty with me backpacking in Europe for a month, through Switzerland and Baselworld. It's a 1969 751 linen dial Connie. Reason being, day/date is very useful while travelling. It's not as expensive as my pristine pie pans and I feel like it's more durable, so if I bang it up somehow, it wouldn't hurt as much. It was an amazing companion that started a ton of conversations with fellow watch enthusiasts and now friends. Kept excellent time, however after a month started losing maybe a minute per day... considering COSC watches have a +-4/day I definitely have to get it serviced soon. Being designed by Gerald Genta is a marvel in itself. Definitely has a place in my heart.

I wonder if I can do anything with the rust forming at the bezel, perhaps I'll ask my local watchmaker guy that's seen a billion vintage watches.

Love the coin bezel and 751 day-date movement, only thing I like better is a Presidential Rolex 1803.

Seems odd to me that it's rusting! Can you post closeups?

I have a 1125 bracelet on my C-case. The end links are worn and stamped only "77".
Does anyone know what end pieces will fit both my watch and bracelet well?
The watch is a 168.029 fra 1971.

Here are some pics of my most recent purchase.
It's a 168.029 from 1971 with the large LL magnifier.
I'm blown away at how comfortable it is, you barely feel it on the wrist.

Question for the C-Case lovers - I was digging around the murky depths of ebay (not my listing) and the seller said the bezel on his was *Yellow Gold*.

Did omega ever make anything like this, I did a bit of research and all I could find was that all the knurled bezels on stainless steel cases were white gold.

What do we think?

Personally I think that looks like dirty white gold.
I asked the seller and he absolutely insisted it was yellow gold, and I mean insisted!

it could be a two-tone variation of c-shaped case connies. yellow bezel is also applied in other connies like mine:

Looks like Desmond's blog covers this here.

EDIT:

And to think i thought I'd read that stuff...I'll go away and try and do my homework to a higher standard!

I was considering pulling the trigger on this.

Dial looked fine to me. I thought the brushed finish was a little faded, what did you guys think?
I was also a little concerned by the gasket colour.

Hey guys 😀 I have a Connie 168.029 on its way with the lovely grey dial. Any idea where I could get a replacement Omega crystal in Europe? Pics will follow when it arrives 😉

I think there reference numbers (168.0009/168.017/168.027/168.019/168.029/168.0056/168.0057) remain the same no matter the dial finish.

Be careful with some of the more colourful options (especially the blues), as there are lots of refurbished watches coming out of South Korea and popping up on eBay with dials they didn't leave Switzerland with!

The 168.027 tends to be the model that you see factory original dials in a variety of colour ways.
