The Best Bond Watch Ever?

I was looking at the Bond watches yesterday with a friend. Least favorite Bond watch is the PO from Quantum of Solace. The movie title is etched into the crystal. No thank you!

As far as my favorite, it's hard to go wrong with the original Bond Omega.

Yikes, I love the PO, but I can't believe they stuck a movie title in the middle of the dial. 🤮

I think it's really cool that they are using a positive relief on the bezel. The non-platinum version doesn't have this, wonder why the departure. Only other SM I see with this feature is the TTS anniversary and the all gold ceramic chrono.

I've seen the new Bond in person and it definitely doesn't disappoint.

Don’t get me wrong - I like the new Bond. But I can’t help feeling that, as
MI6’s top spook, 007 would never carry a watch (or anything else) with a symbol on it that indicated it was government property... (And yes, I am aware DC had significant input into its design etc etc)

This. He’s a SPY. Why would anyone trying to be covert wear something that screams that you are part of the government/military??? Makes no sense.

Otherwise it’s an awesome watch that I will never be able to afford. I’ll just be happy with my Speedy pro

Has anyone ever seen it in the metal? Could be a pure promotional model to try and pull up the image of the Seamaster line.

Omega often releases a very limited (<=50pcs) platinum version of many of their sportier models that often only appear in steel or gold. There was a platinum regular Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial, a Globemaster, etc.

They're for the truly nutty (and fabulously rich) collectors, but there was a standard version of that watch in steel a few years ago, in much less limited numbers

Just playing devil's advocate, but he's supposed to be a commander in the Royal Naval Reserve, ergo in that role, it would make sense that he would wear a watch with military markings.

If the James Bond movies were about his exploits as a Royal Navy Reservist, I’d agree with you completely. But they’re not. They’re about his exploits as an international spook with a license to kill.

Fair point.

Anyone wearing it often? Chime in how durable the aluminium bezel is?
I have one and I’ve had no problems with it at all.Although I don't wear it 24/7

Don’t see how it would vary much from a 5 digit sub or black bay. Will gets marks if you knock it and be ok if you are careful I guess...

Let's not forget ceramic is the innovation, Aluminum has been there for decades. Easy enough to see how Aluminum bezels age.
