What is the significance of the 4 minute marking on the sub-dial? Sailing related?

Yes
You want your race sail up a minute before the start of a race. Hence the 4 marked on the chrono dial but another mark at 5


To alert boats that a race or sequence of races will begin soon, an orange flag may be displayed with one sound signal five minutes before a warning signal is made.
Races will be started in accordance with RRS Rule 26 with the warning signal made 5 minutes before the starting signal.

I am more intrigued about the fact that they chose a speedmaster (moonwatch?) for a water sport.

Seeing as the ‘Speedmaster’ was designed for (motor) racing (and the whole moon thing was a nice side effect), I’m not, and appear to be the only guy who thinks it fits ...

I agree with the racing aspect but then again i would think this is Seamaster territory. But then again they just released the America's Cup PO.

they did say a sailor plans on staying on deck and not swimming in the ocean.

Difficult to find new speed under 10k

I don't get it, the black case crave is more or less over it seems.
Green dials are the new thing, IWC, H. Moser, Blancpain etc.

I still can't understand the logic of Omega calling this a 'Moonwatch' on their website. Way too many Speedmasters called "Moonwatches" that have nothing in common with the original. This one is just weird.

Not that I’d be considering getting one but most of the new models posted here I like. This one not so much. Certainly is unique I could see why some might add it to their collection but this, at first viewing here would be an easy pass.
