Moonwatch: New Hesalite, 3570.50, or 3572.50

I'm going to get a speedy (my first) and I'm looking for input on which direction I should go. I'm debating between a new Moonwatch Pro w/ Hesalite or getting a 3570.50 or 3572.50 and getting the new bracelet for it. The price difference between the options isn't a big deciding factor for me. But I like things that are different and less common. I have no intention of selling the watch but I like to know it holds its value fairly well. I also had a relative who was an astronaut on the Columbia who lost his life in the 2003 tragedy, so the tie to space is meaningful to me and being closer to authentic carries some weight.

I'm not looking for anyone to tell me what to do, but what direction would you go and why?

3572.50 is a gem, especially the tritium variants

I’d get a brand new, current model, fresh out of the Omega boutique one if I was planning on keeping it forever.

Get a new one with the 3861 movement, you also get a five year warranty. Start with a new watch and put your own memories on it.

Dont get a Speedmaster then, they are common as muck. This instead maybe? Not at all that common.

I don't see it mentioned in the OP, but 3590.50 is also a great neo-vintage option for the tritium dial and 861 movement.

I have both a new 3861 Speedmaster and a tritium dialed 3570.50. If I were buying a first Speedmaster that I were going to keep forever, I’d buy a brand new 3861. But if I wanted something a little less common, I’d look for a tritium dialed 3570.50 or 3590.50 with the full kit.

If you don’t want a common Speedmaster, consider the First Omega in Space edition. Probably no more than 16000 ever made, which is a lot less than the standard variant.

if you prefer the look of the standard Pro (white stick hands, twisted lug case) I would get to modern version with the 3861. The stepped dial is more attractive, IMO, as is the center seconds hand.

I'm leaning towards a new watch now. If I really want to get into a vintage one later I can always do that, but I highly doubt I'd ever regret getting a new one now. The potential for a white dial SS is interesting, but I probably should get the standard fare for my first one.

OP - of the options you’re considering, I’d also suggest a new 3861 reference. It already comes with the bracelet you like, the movement is new & improved (and under warranty), and the ‘60s-‘70s design cues are killer.

    GLWS!

Guys, thanks for all the input and help. I'm really glad I went new and I'm really glad I went with Hesalite. Got the watch yesterday and sized it up last night. Away we go!
