Oh dear, they butchered the Apollo 8!

Does this mean the Apollo 8 limited production will be replaced with this dial?

I am more intrigued about the fact that they chose a speedmaster (moonwatch?) for a water sport.

to make a statement that a speedmaster is good / apt for water sports too (not just seamaster)?

I loved the A.P ROO Alinghi L.E back in the day when they sponsored the team.

Not so sure it works on the Speedmaster, but it's personal choice I guess.

Wow that is extremely sporty! Wouldn’t necessarily purchase it, but can definitely see the appeal. Keep pushing Omega!

First time I see a Caliber 1865, but then I'm not intimately familiar with all the various Speedmaster models in existence.

What is the significance of the 4 minute marking on the sub-dial? Sailing related?

Don't see the need for the tie in to the DSotM...call it a Speedmaster and be done with it. Prefer the Apollo 8 version.

It’s to mark a countdown until the race begins, apparently.

50m = 50m, and that is what this watch is rated for...

$10,800. That's 10.8% more than the Apollo 8.

The use of carbon fiber on the dial has been done to death over the years and is now out of style, but putting a fake carbon fiber pattern on the dial (movement) is a bit tacky, imo.

I am surprised that they still introduse new "non-coaxial" movement.

I have stated before I’d love the Apollo 8 to come out with the new 3861 movement and red where it is yellow.......now that would be cool

I’m lost though how the dark side of the moon has anything to do with yachts.

That's a bit less than the large premium for the #PCA Speedy a couple years ago.
