I have to give it to the OF members....now going on to the 5th page of a question that really wasn't worth an answer other than, 'throw it away, it needs replacing'. Maybe it's Covid related and everyone just has too much time on their hands as they wait for their next stimulus check.
You know it's bad when people are even posting to say how many posts there are. 馃槈

Hey, I just got my stimulus! Incoming phone message "book an appointment now for your jab".

So, the question is: do I want to turn up as someone who dresses up because they haven't been outside their own 4 walls for 11 months, or just grunge it because I haven't been out and have lost the will to live?

And, most importantly, which watch to wear?

I bought floor sweepings from a local factory once. A gallon paint can for 拢1.00 (empty the can first!).

The factory was the Austin at Longbridge and I was running a Mini Cooper which had been made there.

Did you manage to snag some spare smoke to put back into those Lucas electronics? 馃槈

No need, brother of a friend worked at Lucas, he could get stuff 馃槈

I even worked for a part of Lucas (Girling brakes) and when you're ready for the the long version of how the car manufacturers screwed their suppliers and the effect on quality let me know. Sheesh, nearly 50 years later and I'm still fighting their corner :whipped:

One for all you old Omega spring bar lovers out there 馃榿
Wow, if you could combine all of that DNA you might be able to grow the world's smartest person. Or possibly the dumbest. Might be worth a try just to see which way it goes. Lots of scientific and medical folks here on OF, so it could be a good group project.

i like the first pics. best. that hour long joy to find the right spring bar..... What is in the Reemtsma Cigarette metal box ? Treasure? kind regards. Achim
I have a box like that with every screw I have ever stripped from a piece of electronics gear- you would be surprised how many times I magically find what I need in that box.

-I need 3 chassis screws for a Technics SL1200- they are red....yup, there are a few.

Having worked for a global company that was a Tier 1 automotive supplier, I am familiar with the story...

I'm here to help @M'Bob as many of us know that proper troubleshooting requires not only the right tools but also the right schematics - I'm not sure these are the right ones but they are probably very close to the spring bar creating distress to the OP. 馃榾 @M'Bob keep us posted on your progress! and good luck! p.s. and don't listen to the naysayers! 馃槣

The likelihood of this being an "original" spring bar is pretty much zero...

Follow-up, for those who may be interested in what original flat-link clasp spring bars look like: the stuck bar, which is still stuck, is on the right, taken from an unmolested 1039. The bar on the left, taken from another unmolested 1039. So the likelihood of them being original appears to be greater than zero.

Technics 1200's, now were talking...spent many a midnight hour spinning the tunes on these decks in the 90's

Sure, it's the same style as the original, but it's unlikely this was the spring bar that was originally in the bracelet when it was made (i.e. original). As I have mentioned, these are changed at every service.

BTW, I thought this was from a 7912?

Actually, it鈥檚 an original bracelet spring bar to a 7912, and I鈥檓 just trying to free it up.
