Strategy for Omega snoopy hunting?

There is a bit of misinformation in this thread. Yes, you can filter on C24 on who has the watch in stock, and in my experience that has been pretty true. If they say it's in stock then it is in their possession.

Take a hot watch like the Snoopy 50th.....on C24 there are 196 shown for sale, but filter for 'in stock' and it drops to 148, so about 75% of those listed are readily available to purchase. And most of them have custom pics of the individual watch and not stock pics. Use the filter and save yourself time and effort.

But older watches, like the Snoopy 45th, are rarer and most listed are in-hand ready for sale.

Most of the watches on Chrono24 say "in stock." Maybe 2 do not. However, if they are lying about being in stock you won't know unless you order.

You seem to want to believe that very few watches are actually available and in stock and they are lying about it. I've bought four watches off of C24 and they were all in stock and shipped the next day. Believe what you want to believe, but if most watches weren't available on a site like C24 it would become untenable in short order.

I have no opinion on this matter. Everything I wrote is a fact. Maybe you're confusing me with another member? I've purchased through Chrono24 before and not had problems.

I've contacted a few on chrono and they mentioned the same, they don't have the watch. It's much more rare than some people are giving it credit for.
A lot of the sellers on C24 have already sold the watch outside of C24 so rather than dealing with the logistics and paying the fee, they just leave the listing in place. This is especially true on the listings with stock photos and prices that are above the average. That or they attract interest and then try to source the watch. I don't like this practice, but there you go.

Beautiful collection! Unfortunately I am stateside!
That's why international shipping was invented! 😉

Can't you filter for sellers that have the item in stock?
I think the problem with that is the sellers lie.

One suggestion would be to compare photos. Typically they can't take their own photos, so they just borrow ones from other listings. I was shopping for one at one point where it was clear that 5-6 sellers were all listing the same watch by having the same photos in slightly different orders.

I've never sold on C24 but don't they ask the seller for a pic of their watch set to a specific time to show that they have the watch in hand? If they can't do that then the watch can't be listed as 'in stock'.

Was about to make the same point - to list a watch for sale you’d need to have access to the watch.

I don't know how that works with not-"in Stock" availability options. "need to procure" is one of the options.

I have seen one in Japan Rakuten. Full set with paper. Condition looks good. About 40k usd (based on today exchange rate)

Thank you for the PMs. I'm surprised how many people are eager to sell their 2015 Snoopys! Between this site and others I've already gotten 10 private offers! Apologies if I didn't respond just yet to anyone in particular.

Hi, before you buy check references, ask for pictures with dates. Anything you can do to prevent a scam.

Regards

Jorge

I am not surprised at the number of people selling since the price of 2015 snoopy on the secondary market is a good chunk of change to buy other timepieces with spare change to keep.
