Not easy to find these, so when this was offered locally, I had to give it a try. Not much interest from others, so I ended up getting it. It’s far from being a mint example – observatory and stars have seen better days, but biggest issue is the cracking in the lacquer – not visible to the naked eye, but still annoying.

After a service and a little TLC to the exterior, it’ll probably have a quiet retirement in the bank, as these bracelets are a bit too much bling bling for me😀 I just need to find the strap version of the same watch, I guess …. 😀

Some pics:

The rotor touches the caseback – anyone know a source for bearing etc. for a Cal. 505, if my watchmaker can’t find the parts?

Comments, good or bad, welcome 😀

Thanks,
Paul

Don't hide it in a box! Wear it, it's necessary for it to be happy! Great find. And Dibs.

I do not know if this is local to you?! Maybe Uhrmageriet in Aarhus can help. I remember them having spareparts for various older Omega cals.

Not sure what you got yours for but there is a head only on ebay at the moment at near 5K USD. Seems high for a Connie.

Redial?

I'd wear it for special occasions, not leave it at a bank

Agree - wear it to restaurants or something. I could never bring myself to keep a watch in the bank. I have to wear or keep for the pleasure of looking at it - if not I'd rather sell on and let someone get the use and enjoyment.

WHAAAAAT - I hope not 😀

BTW, it's at the watchmaker and he said I was lucky to get the last cal. 505 rotor bearing from Omega - I thought they were used up a long time ago?

Have not been available for some time...he might have found someone hiding them away I guess...

That is a Deluxe and not a Grand Luxe, same dial though.

What is difference.....fancy lugs and bracelet?

Well different reference numbers, different case shape, different bracelets....sometimes you find the same solid gold stepped piepan dials in the Deluxe version, but not so often, as can be seen from the price that this one is going to achieve.
