Not something I would want/ wear, but it is definitely a beautiful example. I would stash it away and pull it out every few weeks to admire it.

So if you bought this would you wear it? It's been preserved for 50 years, and that definitely adds a bit to the value. Do you keep it as a museum piece, or do you start dinging it up?

If you look at the sellers previous deals, I'd be careful. Micky mouse values and nothing watch related at all. Ask for pictures of this watch, set to a strange time. Like 4.27. better be safe than sorry.....kind regards. Achim

I would wear it, but for special occasions only. I have two 1960's Constellations that are both mint (one a dome dial and the second a pie pan dial) that I treat similarly. What's the point of buying them if you're never going to wear them? I also have an "everyday" dog leg Connie with a polished case and a patinated dial that I wear more frequently -- not a museum piece by any means, but sitll one hell of a nice watch.

I had similar thoughts. I've seen excellent and verifiable examples of the Grand Luxe elsewhere -- including in the private sales forum on OF -- for less money.

Gosh it would be nice if someone from the forum bought this. 👍

Nice write-up from the seller.

Omega Constellation Grand Luxe 18K Yellow Gold 18k pie pan dial. Condition is "Pre-owned". This is one of the nicest examples I have ever come across. The watch is near perfect with a tight 18k solid gold band that has no stretch at all. It has its original spring
loaded omega 18k clasp. The observatory on the back is nice and crisp. All the edges on the watch are nice and sharp and not over polished. It runs perfectly with no issues. It weighs 131.1 grams and should fit close to an 8 inch wrist. You won't be disappointed.

While I would echo the recommendation to be cautious he does have some watch sales over a grand and given he looks like a picker from his sales history it’s not that unusual to me comparing the watch to his history.

I would still take precautions in payment and have some proof of life photos for sure though.

I agree that the seller is a picker- I have found pickers get the best honest watches as they come by them honestly (yard sale hunters) and don’t do anything to them- just flip for sale.
PayPal and ebay protections are on the side of the buyer so little to worry about.

Although not my style, I would rock this thing with a suit and a French cuff on the rare occasions I need to go full suit.

This thing is prime candidate for the smelt considering the gold weight of the bracelet- someone needs to appeal to the seller and save this thing.

Oh- and regardless of if this is your style or not, I know my lady would wear this thing in a heartbeat! It would make a far more interesting and unique gift than anything modern in the same price range.

It's a beautiful watch but the 15k is a bit optimistic I would think. Unless the gold price went up lately. But we can call this a truly rare watch.

What a stunning piece. Personnaly i would defenetly wear it on some special occasions and even on some evenings. 15k seems a bit high but I m sure someone will make a decent offer that will satisfy the seller. Wish that one were me though 🙄

That has to be the shiniest watch ever made. I can’t imagine wearing it but I want it anyway.

Absoluty breathtaking piece ! This is far too shiny for me too but the watch is gorgeous as a collector piece. 🥰
I think than 15 k is a little too high, but i prefer by far this kind of rare treasure than watches than everybody has (hello Rolex).📖

Does anyone have an idea how many of these might have been produced?

What a stunner.

To my knowledge, Rolex never made anything like this. And if they did, there would be a waiting list and you would have to buy three other “Rolex Constellations” that you didn’t want as a prerequisite. 🙄
