Some don’t. That’s why they are here. The toughest ticket to buy during the regular season is Christmas week when the Panthers play Toronto or Montreal.

Not surprising as that's the case in Vancouver, and I imagine in most markets.

My wife is from Finland and she is a big hockey fan. ( 7 brothers, might have influenced her choice in sports)
In 2018 we lived in Malawi. She used to download the Stanley Cup highlights and we would watch it together.
I got quite into it and said I would pick a team to support. My wife said I could not choose one of the best teams because that would make me a glory hunter.
I chose my team based on the availability of t shirts under 30 USD on Amazon. I ended up with supporting the St.Loiuse Blues. My wife laughed, they had not won anything since only god knows when.
2019 they only went and won the whole thing. It's tough waiting a whole lifetime for your team to win, but it's an unbelievable feeling when it eventually happens. Go blues. Don't give up hope Canadians, one day one of your teams will win.

My home town team (Calgary Flames) won the cup in 1988. They beat Montreal. Then in 2004 the Flames lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh game of the Stanley Cup final. Don’t count Edmonton Oilers out just yet!

This series is ending up way better than I thought it would. Game 7 and the possibility of a reverse sweep.

Some folks doubt the Oilers will pull it off! I like their chances!

I think the Panthers are choking big time. Oilers have all the momentum now. It really changed midway through game 3.

Panthers played great till they had a chance to get Lord Stanley with a win. I think when the thing you have been dreaming about your whole life is in front of you, it makes you play tight and hard to take that last step. Will the same things happen to the Edmonton now that they have a chance to win the cup? Who knows Skinner is 10-0 in games 4-7. Does he ride that wave or crack?.

Home team is 12-5 in game 7.

I'll I know is I don't have a strong love or dislike for either team so will be watching as a hockey fan and enjoying all the excitement that a game 7 brings. I also know as a Blackhawks fan it will be a looooooooooooong time before they will compete for a Cup, but glad I saw them win 3 times in my lifetime. And when they line up and shake hands, it's still one of the coolest things in sport. It's the best trophy and hardest to win, and as an added bonus - Bettman gets booed EVERY time he hands off the Cup. Appreciate how hard these guys play and the sacrifices they make have their name on the Cup.

I've been watching hockey since I was 7 or 8, so we're talking well over half a century. In my view, Gary Bettman is an easy mark, especially for many of those who like to follow the herd. Absolutely, there are many things he shit the bed on; the early years of his tenure were particularly dreadful, and his perceived disrespect for Canadian fans and our market are galling and definitely worthy of a Bronx cheer. And he pooped the crib on Arizona, which was his pet project. Sad, really, especially for the Coyotes faithful. There's a great article here about his legacy - both the good and the really, really terrible.

Now, I'm as suspicious as the next guy about the intentions of the NHL, yet the facts are undeniable. Gary's been great for the NHL - as a business. And in a world of multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts and sponsor-driven investment, it is a business. And one needs a damn sharp leader to ensure the business turns a profit.

Bettman gets booed....why exactly? Oh, wait, I know: because he is an, ahem, cough, NYC elite? And a NYC elite lawyer? Well, clutch my pearls: he's an outsider!!! Love the man or no, he turned a league that was bleeding cash to a turnaround success story. One only needs to look at Vegas to know Bettman has done a lot of right things; his win record is better than his losses. The NHL hasn't enjoyed the interest it now enjoys. No it isn't MLB, the NFL nor the NBA. But you can bet your bottom dollar more people know about the NHL and watch hockey these days, and I strongly believe Gary Bettman has played a huge part here. Again: it is a business and a successful one now. He should be thanked, not vilified.
