That was a great game 7. Right down to the final buzzer. Congrats to the Cats.

A bit disappointed to see McDavid awarded the Conn Smythe. Sure he had a great playoff, no doubt about that. But the playoffs are all about the Cup. How valuable can he be? His team didn't win. Take him out of the picture and his team still doesn't win.

It's happened many times before. IMO he deserved it.

In the seven game series, goals by Oilers, 23. Panthers, 18. In a way, Panthers were outplayed. Oilers scored enough goals but they came at the wrong time. 🙁
Look up the 1960 World Series. The Yankees outscored the Pirates by 28 runs in a 7 games series, but lost. Totals are meaningless.

Bottom line is the Panthers were able to force Oilers to play a tight, defensive game in Game 7, which did not happen in Games 4, 5 or 6. In fact, Game 7 was almost a replay of Game 1.

Without mentioning any names, some of the Oilers stars appear to have folded their tents during the series. Missing in action!
Give a little credit to Panthers defense for that. Their scheme was not to allow McDavid or Draisaitl to beat them. If the other guys scored enough to make up for it, then they would have lost and it almost happened that way.

Now I have to figure out the logistics for attending the parade on Sunday.

Go to the parade for sure. I went to 3 in Chicago - you never know when the Cup will be back in town. Congrats to the Panthers. They wore down Edmonton in Game 7. They looked pretty tired in the 3rd period especially when they shortened their bench. Panthers played the game they needed to win. Well done!
