Picked up this Seamaster almost a year ago, and it has become a favorite....though I rarely wear it more than a couple of times a month. I am aware of how tough I am on watches, so this one generally only sees leisure use. For such a relatively heavy watch it sure is comfortable, an indicator of how timeless the bracelet design is for large wrists. As usual, I had to hunt around for extra links, and in this case I was able to find a non-pinned upper part of the bracelet to use in the lower pinned part.

The movement is the Omega-massaged version of the eta 2892, and is under +-10 SD. I haven't opened it up, but I am very familiar with this works. Don't wear it enough to have any concerns about service yet, but since it is over 20 years old it is in the queue to go to Omega. Just hope they don't change anything.

The bezel insert is one of my favorite features of this model, it definitely flies under the radar. It seems more durable than you would expect. I also really like the hands, which have the most vibrant and long lasting lume of all my watches, including my Balls and a Luminox. I am ambivalent about the "Limited Edition" engraving on the side of the case, it neither appeals to me nor bugs me. The serial number on the case back is a definite plus, and probably would have been sufficient. I suspect that not all SMP fans appreciate this model, as I have often seen the near identical "Non America's Cup" selling for a few hundred more than this one. It works for me and, for the time being, scratched that itch. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive Seamaster with the larger case, that might be collectible.View attachment 1590018 View attachment 1590018 View attachment 1590019 View attachment 1590020 View attachment 1590021
