What's your wrist size? Mine is 6.75" and I can barely pull off a 42mm watch. Here is my 42mm 165.024 with very similar case:
You can always order a custom shell cordovan or similar for about $110-150, a few sellers here do them, then you can get any length you choose
Yup, the best way I've found is a custom strap. Problem is that they're pricier 🙁 If only I could custom-make all my straps.
My wrists are so slim, sometimes even "short" straps of 110/70mm aren't short enough. While I can wear them without punching a new hole, the tail bugs me. What I'd really really like are 105/60mm straps, but they're often classified as ladies straps, come in bright colours, seldom have the style I want, and are usually for 14 or 16mm lug widths, occasionally in 18mm, and never in 20mm. So far only Nomos makes them in that 'XS' size.
I feel above all else, a wristwatch should match your clothes and the occasion. Meaning: I wouldn't wear a Panerai with a dinner jacket or tuxedo. Awkward looking (IMHO)
