I missed this thread earlier in the week. I read the first page a couple of minutes ago and was going to post a response*, and then saw it was 9 pages long. Boy, that escalated quickly!

*my post was going to be that warranties exist to fix a problem--not give the buyer a new product--unless the problem cannot be fixed.

Yeah, 8 pages of complaining was finally enough. OP didn't want to listen and can't take a joke. I said it was time for cat pics as we do, and it went downhill from there.

I hate cats, and dogs, goldfish, hamsters, snakes, spiders, lizards, leopards, and all other pet animals. They are all variably expensive ways of turning money into excrement. Money which could be better spent on malfunctioning Omega watches.

Respect to all.

Actually, some ADs here in the UK that are also jewellers do sell B stock, I must correct you on that. My AD is included, so my comment is perfectly valid and correct. You could apply your response to literally anything. LOL In the life of this watch, it is quite a large bump in the road.
What I have been offered is the bare minimum remedy. A replacement would be better. AD and Omega can take it back, sell it as B stock and lower their margin / expectation, as I am now having to do with my speedy.
Perhaps you should actually read what I wrote. I DID NOT say B stock is released by swiss watch companies! But well done you mate!

I could not care less what image you have me in your mind!

LOL
So weird since it really really looks like you did. Perhaps choosing your language more carefully will assist in you getting your point across more effectively/

But hey enjoy your vacation mate, I am sorry you did not like the constructive advice given.

You are dead to me. But I’ll let it slide right now since my regular hit man is having a hernia operation.

Emotional, maybe? But, a watch is more than just a watch, right?!
the speedy will get sorted, it's only a watch...
The OP could have saved himself a lot of time, emotional distress, and energy had he come to this conclusion 8 pages ago. He got there in the end… just had to take the long road I guess.
My family, friends and colleagues will all ask where my shiny new watch is…
Is my 11 year old son now holding Omega in the high regard he did - no.
Thoughts and prayers that his friends and family eventually recover from this nightmare as well.

Actually, he had come to his conclusion before he made his first post. He was just looking for validation.

@p4ul is to me as well. Too bad once cats rise up and take their proper place in society he will not be kept as a pet.

@p4ul there is a reason why so many civilizations from Egypt to the present day revere cats. Heck the internet is basically cat worship at this point.

Yeah, this is why I don't post here as often as I was -- the opinion train hits hard when someone doesn't like what you said and then it's a huge pile on by the bigger names on the forum which then gives everyone the "right" to start shitting on the guy. Some of the responses and reacts are uncalled for and pretty childish.

Actually, I've come to expect nothing less from many of you.

This isn't a fair characterisation of what happened. In the space of only three days, OP has made about 90 posts ranting and raving about this issue, often multiple replies in a row and with a very obvious lack of self awareness about his own behaviour. The question was answered politely and fairly, multiple times on page one. Most new users who are even remotely polite and authentic get that kind of reaction, from what I've seen.

Things only deteriorated when he continued to feed his own hysteria, talking about Omega being embarrassed and a repair being unacceptable and suggesting all 3861's should be recalled. Members got exasperated with his hyperbole and name calling started happening on both sides, especially when he has said at least five times that he's sick of this forum and leaving, only to come back half a day later and unleash another angry tirade.

It seems pretty clear at this point that OP is no longer interested in faithfully engaging, if he ever was. By his own admission, he is only now coming back to stir the pot, so it's no surprise nobody is taking this thread seriously. He's clearly got an extremely short fuse, so I don't think it's fair to blame this thread on "bigger names" - this is what happens in any internet community when a new member waltzes in and acts like this.

I just want to be able to tell my Great Grandkids that I too posted on this thread.

The OP called Scarecrow Boat a 'salt rubber'. Can someone help me with this term? I assume it's a British term?
Perhaps being a salt rubber is what caused the OP's watch to stop.

It was an early flavouring, we have developed as a nation.

Damn it! I skipped the Speedy thread as its usualy un interesting.

Oh well there will always be another one, but this one seemed quite special, implying that cats were unmanly and all.

I hope you come back Davey!

Hi All

I bought a new SS Speedy in July 2024 which i love.

I have always previously found the watch to be accurate to around 2 sec +/- per day when averaged over the course of a week, sync'd to atomic clock. In the last day or so, it's done a couple few weird things...

19.01.25 - watch stopped at 9.50, was then fully wound, then stopped at around 9.50 again. it was then fully wound again
20.01.25 - read online that there had been some issues with the 3861... anyway - watch still running fine at this point. start using chrono. watch stopped after about 3 hours or so. i pushed the top pusher, twice i think, and the watch ran again, but had lost about 20 minutes of time.

As of now 20.01.25, 16.40, the watch is fully wound and chrono appears to be working as normal.

Is this indicative of the 'bushing' issue that some early 3861 movements had? is there any way to tell if my watch is part of the early production run, that may or may not affect with issue, if that is even what it is.

Having now written this, i think it's pretty clear that my watch needs to some love...

I am not sure where I stand with the AD, it was bought online from a UK high st retailer.

I'd welcome any thoughts.

There is a chance I am of course going mad, but at this point I think it is the watch

Thanks in advance.
My understanding here is that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 initial responsibility for the repair/replacement lies with the business that supplied you with the watch (they have a contract with you as such) and they have a legal duty to arrange repair or replacement, so I would be careful not to take any action that might enable them to remove themselves form any such legal obligation. NB I'm not a legal person, I've had a similar experience although not with a watch and that was the advice I was given)

Wow, one forum wasn't enough for this man's rage. Can't wait for his ban to expire, there'll be five pages of pent up projection ready to go.

It's a cat 'click', lol. What a tool. He mentioned a couple of times that he's a boss. Can you imagine working for that d-bag?
