Return it?

Yes return it and cite the movement issues rather than cosmetic problems which he could potentially argue with you on.

Ok I will do that now. Just noticed that when I engage the chronograph the seconds subdial stops and jumps before starting again..what a mess this watch is..

Okay guys, just emailed the seller asking for a return. I initially told him I would keep it, but with all of these issues I'm finding, its just unacceptable to me. Hope this is resolved. Thanks for all of the help and advice!

I agree. Looks nothing like it did in the pics. The seller clearly sent me a worn out grungy speedy instead of a lightly used one(as it looked in the pics). Ive certainly learned a lesson. Thanks!

Also I do not know if you have noticed the posting on ebay says and I quote "This is a great watch and looks and works amazing". It says works amazing - unless he means "amazing" because the hands are jumping around 😉😉. I would definitely try to return it - What do you have to loose. Paying $600 for service on top of what you paid for the watch - you will never recover. Really sorry for your problems.

So I've started the process of trying to return it. Sent the seller a message as part of the return request..ive gotten no response. I wonder if I should just try and sell it myself. The dilemma is I just don't think I could make that much off of it considering its issues..

I mean you just sent the message less than two hours ago. Give it some time...

Someone sold you his problem, and thereby your dilemma. Sell it, and someone else ends up with the problem. Will you refuse to take it back? Or disclose all of its problems, and dump it at a sacrifice price, with no return privilege? Better you should do what you have to do, to return it!

of course I would disclose the issues. I hate slimy people who sell problem pieces and don't mention the issues. It sure would be at a sacrifice price though..which would suck for me. Im going to try and return it..and if that fails..Im not sure what I will do. The issue is I do like the watch. Ive thought about storing it until I can afford to service it..but the more I think about doing that..the less it makes sense. If I sent it to Omega and put $600(or probably more) into it on top of what I paid..id feel kinda stupid to be honest. This is quite a pain for sure, but I appreciate all of the input and advice.

As previously noted, return the watch. If the seller does not cooperate, then file a not as described claim with eBay.

Clearly not working amazingly.

When and if you file a claim, simply state the watch is not working properly. If they want additional information wait for them (eBay) to ask for it. Be patient and let the system work.

Thats what Ive decided to do. Hopefully I will hear from ebay tomorrow.

@Vintage Lemania sorry for your troubles, mate. I hope Ebay/Paypal protections take up your case. Also thanks for posting your experience- I'm a bit new here and your post spurred me to do some digging on my own and I came up with this post from @LouS which I found really helpful - especially the Eric Wind article on buying from eBay. Anyway hope it helps in the future: https://omegaforums.net/threads/guide-to-ebay-gambling-ug-edition.20338/#post-220601

Just figured Id post back on the issue. I still haven't heard from the seller(from what I've gathered ebay themselves will not contact you first). Im sure he got the return request message. I remember when I sold a strap and the person wanted a return..I got the request pretty quickly. Should I send a message to the seller or just wait a bit longer?

Let ebay handle it, if he does not respond then you win. No reason to bug him and piss him off.

How does that work if he just never responds? Does ebay just grant me the refund after I ship it back to his address?

If seller does not respond then when you file a return with eBay they will most likely rule your favor and send you a return to sender mailing label.

While I have not returned a watch, I have returned a cell phone that was not working and eBay was very favorable to me back then.

Good luck.

Oh, okay, thats pretty much what I figured..just wasn't sure. Damn I feel stupid for buying this mess of a watch. Live and learn I guess.

Also, why did u buy a speedy auto and not a speedy pro?

I have pretty small wrists unfortunately. Also, I couldn't afford a speedy pro.

Update: the seller responded and is a bit irate. Here is his response: "Hi - like I said, I tried the chrono when I put the watch for sale and did not notice anything unusual, certainly nothing close to what you're claiming. You asked a number of questions prior to placing your bid and never inquired about the chrono. You had the opportunity to ask about all you wanted prior to bidding. Everything I stated about the state and quality of the watch is true and no false claims have been made. It was clear that under the terms I stated no returns accepted and you should have asked about all that you though was relevant. I completely disagree with your claim(s) but in interest of resolving this I am willing to talk about figuring out a way to remedy this situation. Any (reasonable) suggestions?"

I don't know what I should do in response here. Wanted to get some input from you guys before I proceed. Thanks!
