Thinking there could be a valid case to make a 'sticky' out of this thread to assist new members in A. Taking solid advice from established members and B. If they fail to take said advice, navigate the quagmire that is know as eBay customer support...oh and C. General mental / personal coaching.... :whipped:

Figured i'd give one last update about this disaster. Just got an email from Ebay telling me that they will not accept a return on it, even though I sent them a full estimate from Central Watch. Obviously, this isn't the outcome I wanted, but it is what it is. Im now in the process of listing it for sale on the bay(full disclosure of all of its issues, of course) and am going to try and recoup some of my money. Im looking forward to being rid of this watch and hope to find a much better replacement soon(hopefully on this forum).

Have you tried PayPal return for not as described option?

Did you use a credit-card to fund the PayPal transaction?

If you did you can file a charge-back with your credit-card.

I considered going that route, but Ive decided to just move it on myself. I know ill be taking a hit in the end(I'm making sure to disclose all of its issues), but at least ill be rid of this mess of a watch.

Its unfortunate to see it end that way for you but I'm sure once you get the watch you want in good shape you'll be pleased to own that.

Never buy anything on EBay without using a credit card.
I am sure that is a contributing reason why you lost the appeal.
eBay and PayPal want to avoid charge backs at all costs literally.
With a charge back, your problem becomes their problem and they are now on the hook for a direct financial loss.

Probably had to do with it..now that I think about it. I think I'm done with ebay for the most part anyway after this experience.

So rather than him spending maybe $700 or so for a service, you are offering to let him take a $1200 hit on the watch...very nice of you...

Oh come on, can't you read the sarcasm!

With all the advice offered in this thread he should at least attempt to contact PayPal and give it a shot. Why lose any amount of money on this deal?

This is a really good point... @Vintage Lemania, why not just send the watch in to Omega? You'll lose less money doing that than selling it on Ebay as is.

Elady is a pretty good source if not wanting to deal with members even.

I got an absolute screaming deal from elady on my wife's lady speedmaster 324.33.38.40.04.001.

It needed a new band and a service after about a year. Even factoring in those costs it was a ridiculously good price.

Can't beat it....
I'd only buy from here or Elady!

Pretty good deals to be had.
