Looks fantastic on the Speedmaster too:

May I ask what strap this is? Looks great on a Speedy and would be a nice winter strap.

It's the Railmaster strap mentioned above.
I got mine from the OB.
Medium length is CWZ007427, short length is CWZ009616. I think it looks great on the Moonwatch!

I think it would look even better on a vintage Speedy with the darker lume matching the two stitch. But I haven't seen that combination yet...

Thanks. The combo looks really sharp!

What's the current model or catalog # for this? I'd like to, at least, take a look- thanks

331.10.42.51.01.001

Interesting, appears to be COSC but doesn't have the "Master Chronometer" markings...

It is COSC and behaves like it. From what I understand, some similar models come as Master Chronometer which has the 9900 movement and is METAS certified. Watchbase says the certain models containing the 9301 that have been through METAS also carry Master Chronometer.

Interesting, the lines are getting blurred between a lot of these movements,
Still prefer the more traditional Speedmaster look of the 324.30.38.50.01.001
Over the '57 version.

That model has a 9300A in it, which is not Master Chronometer certified. No 9300 series are that I am aware of, so I would take the information at Watchbase with a grain of salt...Master Chronometers are the 9900 series.

That just gave me an idea, that strap would look great on the ST2 Ultraman which has the darker lume. I've been looking for a new strap, the stock Ultraman straps aren't doing it for me. The Railmaster strap may fit the bill.

Yes, I bet it would be awesome on a watch with darker lume!
Make sure to post some pics, of you end up going that route.

I have currently a Speedmaster 311.30.42.30.01.005 ... Also have a Seamaster, blue 210.30.42.20.03.001 which I got in September

Funny. I also have the same SMP in blue, and a 311.30.42.30.01.006. I bought the SMP first, and now find that I wear the Speedy more often. I wear the sandwich on a bracelet and the SMP on a strap (opposite of OP). I find the SMP bracelet to be very uncomfortable.

I have had similar thoughts of getting rid of the SMP, but I predict that I will lose enough money on the deal that it will hurt too much. And it is still a nice watch, just no longer #1 in rotation.

I think having two very similar speedies will not be satisfying. However. I know there are some folks who collect things and (for instance) having 8 different Daytonas which are really all the same except for the bezel or different color face. So if you can afford it and enjoy collecting, then hey, why not?

This is my concern, not the cost, but whether 2 similar watches will be, ultimately, redundant. However, the 324.30.38.50.01.001 is 4mm smaller and has some different styling touches, like the notched bezel, but I find I prefer looking at the Speedmaster face, so I guess I'll have to decide if I want to try, I'm thinking some different straps would also help. I'd also have less trepidation if the 324 had 20mm lugs instead of 18mm ( think I'm correct here) I'm kinda neutral on the bracelet, like the clasp, but find the bracelet overly heavy.

Still doing some due diligence on the 324.30.38.50.01.001, from the Omega website found it has a cal 3330 movement. Any input on this movement? Understand that the date setting is via a flush pushbutton at 10:00, does this present a problem? Seems a bit different. An additional question: does this movement hack?

The 3330 is based on the ETA 7750, so yes it hacks. It has a column wheel but is horizontally coupled. The minute counter has continuous motion, rather than tick over on the minute, and is relocated through a series of wheels on the dial side.

The date corrector shouldn’t present any problems, as this is used on many different movements.

Cheers, Al

Al, thanks, this is helpful, appreciate your insight. This looks to be a real consideration for a " daily driver" Speedmaster. Next step is to go actually look at one, hopefully the bracelet will be comfortable.

Good luck. Hope you find the perfect one for your need (wants).
