Thanks for posting the pics with the deployant and the original DSOTM-strap. Thats definitely a combination i was considering as well already as i want the deployant as well.
I would still appreciate if someone with the custom yellow stiching JR straps would post a picture what it looks like. In general i am not a fan of aftermarket straps on a fancy watch, tho they didnt look too bad to me so far.
Another option i consider is maybe the strap from the snoopy special edition with the white stitching.

Also i am curious is it really that difficult to get this watch in the US? I was in one boutique in Chicago and in 3 in London and all of them had it available.

The Snoopy strap is 20 mm and the Apollo 8 is 21 mm.So for that combination you would have to custom order from JR.

Wasn't keen on the original strap. Too much yellow and not a fan of the pin/buckle. Bought one from JR but wasn't impressed by the quality. In the end I opted for the Black Cordura Omega/deployant clasp found on the Black Black. Think it looks much better. Yellow accents now more subtle!
You’ve selected well. I agree it looks much better on black cordura with a deployant. Thanks for posting.

Can you order the DSOTM Black Black strap online?

Not from Omega directly as far as i know, tho i have seen the strap already for purchase in online stores.

you can get from an OB., If I remember correctly it’s $250.00 USD and the ceramic buckle is around $450.00 USD.

Did they have them on hand to purchase right away, were those watches waiting to be picked up and just on display or the said it was available for ordering? I’m just asking because before all the stores had the new Seamaster 300 available, I saw one on display on the OB just waiting to be picked up.

Yes i could have purchased them right away. Unfortunately no negotiation possible and only for the list price, but as i get to London often i saw no reason to rush and maybe rather wait for my AD to get them...

Just FYI there is a long version of the OEM strap available as a no cost option if the normal one is too short, I’ve ordered that and will get it swapped eventually.

Apollo 8 DSOTM has landed!

Congratulations and great pic of the watch!

I have found most images really can't do the level of detail and 3D nature of the dial justice. This one definitely shows some of it off.

for the other lucky owners: is your start/stop of chrono button a bit hard to press and noisy?

also the manual indicates that the seconds hand should zero when pushing back the crown but they do not it seems you have to keep turning the crown to make the seconds sort of stop moving when at 60 when wanting precise setting, is that what yours does too?)

hmm I wound my watch when I received it and now it’s dead/lost time. I did run the chrono for a few hours yesterday but isn’t it supposed to last 24h at least?

interesting: I wound it again on my wrist and stopped as soon as there was resistance then removed it to adjust the time and I was able to wind it a lot more after that... is that normal (to get a resistance and then be able to wind it a lot more a bit later) - maybe that's why yesterday it wasn't wound fully and died around 18h later ?
