Just wanted to thank @Spacefruit for taking the time to comment and to share his wealth of expertise and knowledge with the community. True class act!
Is that a damage on the dial next to the right of the "1" hour marker? Or are you showing a different piece?
It's the same piece. I don't know if the damage is on the dial or if it's something on the crystal that makes some sort of shadow on the dial?
OK, there are a few other fine pieces on that auction, you don't feel that you want to promote any of them?
Let's not forget that based on recent eBay sales, that bezel is worth about $1.8 billion USD. Gorgeous example.
Hope an OF'er buys it, so we'll have a chance to see more of it (wonder if Mrs. SF new kitchen will be delayed....).
thanks to @Spacefruit for the lengthy assessment. i was aware of this lot and thought it looked amazing. it's good to hear other's assessment of it. I would like to see a close-up of the dial to confirm the scratches (especially between 1 & 2) are on the crystal and not the dial. i haven't seen a better offering with a lollipop, so my guess is that it goes for $108k all in.
Well. This is an omega forum and its not often these base 1000 comes out on auction, especially in Sweden so that's why I felt it was nice to talk about it.. Can't see anything wrong with that
The watch to me looks stunning. And I certainly appreciate you bringing this up on the forum. If only to admire from afar! Sverige. 10 poäng
Imagine that, a watch nerd, getting all amped up over an upcoming watch nerd auction that has rare nerd-gasm level specimens for sale! I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you! There is nothing remotely wrong about it at all
