Hi there, dear forum members! I have this CK 2998-1 in my collection and I'm considering to sell it. It is completely original and has an extract of the OMEGA Archives, that proves it was delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps in December 1959. I bought it from the second owner about 10 years ago, who himself got it from the original owner, whom he had persuaded to sell it to him during a business flight... I know that last year a comparable watch was sold in Sweden for around US$ 100k. What do you think I could ask for it today? And what do you think might be the price in the future? Thank you for your thoughts... I am not intending to start a sale apart from the rules here! Just wonder what you guys think about the value of the watch and how this might increase in the future. Cheers!
Read the rules regarding selling with less than 200 posts and refer to Speedmaster101.com for pricing.
Jesus, has that ever been worn? I have a feeling this won't have to be listed anywhere else. Sly move.
Very pretty indeed. I personally would love to see the extract. I am surprised that a full extract can be done for a 1959 Speedmaster and am also surprised that any can be shown as US forces issued watches...
I will follow the rules of course. I was just asking for your thoughts, since there's not more bundled knowledge than here...
I will post it here later on, no problem. Anyhow, as usual it is not a "full" extract considering the reference, as far as I remember...
The watch was originally worn on a leather strap, but the bracelet would not be the problem. More pics not for today, but this Speedy is as clean as it comes on this two pictures.
It is very nice. I imagine auction houses are your best bet. Do you really want to solicite $50k+ offers by private message on an online forum?
