Speedmaster bezel experts.... help is needed

Hi all, I am looking for some help verifying a Speedmaster bezel. Is this Speedmaster bezel assembly and insert fake from looking at the numerals? I sold this on eBay and was under the impression it was a genuine piece as I purchased it from a previous seller who stated it was genuine. I have no reason to believe the original seller is not genuine as they have been trading watch parts on eBay since the late 90s with thousands of positive feedback. The new buyer has contacted me to advise me that their watchmaker says it is not genuine. If what they are saying is true then I will without a doubt refund them as I would not like to be responsible for passing off something as genuine when it simply is not. I purchased this within the last 6 months so I can still raise this with the original seller or PayPal so there is no loss as I actually payed more for it than what I sold it on for. Any help is truly appreciated. There is gunk on the bezel from
150 - 170 on one of the images so please disregard this as I cleaned it off prior to sale.

Is the concern that it is not actually an authentic Omega part? Or is it more that it is not vintage from a certain era? It seems like a 1990s bezel to me at first glance.

Not a 90s bezel - dot is under 70 and font has serifs. Something about this doesn't look quite right to me for a modern bezel

They said their concern lies with A in the tachymetre. When I bought it the advert stated 145.022 / 145.0022 Speedmaster bezel.

So the new buyer is telling me that they beleive that it is not a genuine Omega part based on the A in tachymetre

I think I disagree.

Looks right except for the accent over the ‘e’

Does the insert actually fit the steel ring? Does not look like a press fit to me....and they do not fade naturally the way, this one looks..... Needs more explaining. Kind regards. Achim

Your buyer posted on a facebook group about this bezel. He believes that it might come from a 2004 watch but it was not an exact match. His reference for this opinion was Moonwatch Only. There were few posts in regard to what it might be, so cant help you with that one, a Tissot Seastar was one suggestion , but he seemed quite sure that it was not what was described. Hopefully you will get to the bottom of this sooner or later.

The Tissot Seastar Chrono that has a bezel that looks like a Speedmaster bezel is much smaller:

I suppose there could be a later one too, but I've not found one that has a similar bezel.

The colour looks dodgy, and the fit into the outer retaining ring looks wrong. Certainly if the retaining ring is wrong, that is where a watchmaker would notice.

In any event, I would not be valuing this bezel much, even if real.

But the "A" is different from the late original:

Thanks for all your support guys. It’s clear that there are too many discrepancies with this insert. I messaged William from Speedmaster 101 who clearly knows a lot about Speedmasters and this was his reply,

The fit of the insert and the outer steel carrier is not what I see in original bezels.
From what I see it is not an original bezel.
I think the font is different
The colour is unusual.
The bezel itself is not attractive, or fine, and so even if it is real, its not worth much.

I have offered the buyer a full refund once they ship the bezel back to me and I will be taking this with the original seller further as they are avoiding my questions regarding its authenticity which says a lot. I have learnt much from the post alone about inserts and what to look out for in the future so thank you all for your help. It pays to know who you are buying from. This is exactly what forums like this are for. It really shows how easy it is to be tricked if you don’t look at the small details.

thanks again
