·If it's not always resetting to the same location, it may require more than a simple adjustment.

·If the position it stops at is changing each time you reset, the first thing that comes to mind is that the hand is not tight on the post. If it's due for a service anyway, having that done is a good idea, and this issue would be resolved during the service. The tube of the hand can be tightened...
