I'm looking at this Speedmastet with interest and really haven't performed a lot of research on this reference. Was wondering if the local experts would chime in and provide their invaluable critique before I drop a bunch of $ on it. I'm looking for a collector piece as well as a daily wearer.

How much did you pay for it? All the 145.022-71 on Wanna buy a watch are listed as sold.

What’s the price guide on sp101 say for that reference - seems high?

Edit - I wouldn’t rate this as excellent, from these pics I think we’re in Good range - and I think that’s giving a lot of benefit of doubt..

What's the movement serial #? I can't see it clearly in the picture.

$6500 is well into “Excellent” territory for this reference according to Speedmaster 101.

To me, the bezel looks nice, but it’s hard to make out the condition of the case from those blown out pictures.

The photos aren't great, but my gut feeling is that it's not a collector piece.

Case looks very overpolished to me just from the lug shape.

Unfortunately these are the best photos I have for now. Serial number is in the 32.8 million range.

I also see a fair amount of grime in the movement - ill wager this hasn’t seen a recent service.

Thanks for the quick replies. I was somewhat concerned with the polishing of the case as well.

The watch looks polished and tired. No way leads to 6,5k IMO. I think the watch is overpriced around 2k.

That watch is average and is not worth the asking by a long shot.

Thanks for the link. Dan. I'll be spending some time on it.

That’s good at best. Lume is ok. Movement needs a serious service. Lots of rust.

They’re negotiable I am told, but this is over polished as others have stated
That’s the least of its worries.

Nothing to add other than the polishing is a knockout; lots of things can be dealt with, such as with TLC or a service, or with replacement parts, but an over-polished case is game over. I look for unpolished cases in this era, and then go from there. Happy hunting.
