Some disappointment with a PO I picked up

Nope. It keeps amazing time other than the fact that the hour hand is slightly misaligned. Your mileage may vary, though.

As a side note, he bought it grey market, so no omega warranty, and doesn't want to deal with their third party warranty.
This is like a 30 second fix. Just take it to your watch shop, he'll do it for $20 why you wait.

Just any old watch shop? I feel a bit sketched out trusting an Omega to someone who doesn't specialize in them.

Dude, any watch shop. All they have to do is take out the stem, pop the movement, reset the hands and put it back together. Seriously takes 5-10 minutes.

Found a guy earlier that claims to specialize in high end, I'll just drop by him tomorrow with it and see.

Thanks!

If you get someone else to mess with it now, there's much less chance of Omega taking pity, and extending a goodwill gesture to get this fixed properly.

Please just speak with omega first, and see if they're willing to do the repair.

Fools rush in my friend. 😉

I really enjoy the orange ceramic bezel.
Small correction in between: the orange bezel is made of aluminium, not ceramic.

Shouldn't it be pressure tested after opening the case and performing the quick fix?

And if they do that without actually solving the problem, it will be misaligned again in no time. This is not just a case where the hands were not set on properly in the first place, so this is bad advice mate.

Cheers, Al

Waiting for Omega's repsonse.

If they are unwilling to honor it, should I just pay for service there? Don't really want to pay ~700 on a watch I just purchased, though that would irboically get it almost close to average used price.

Being a professional mechanic, I really hate having anything mechanical I can't fix myself. And I especially hate paying others for it, haha.

Meh, it's worth the several grand in savings in the end.

I thought the hour hand was just put on misaligned. If it tracks correctly but is just always 20 minutes behind it seems like the only problem would be a poor job of setting the hands.

It's not that simple...the hands were put on lined up, and the issues they had with earlier production is that they would drift over time.

As I've said this is a known issue and Omega has a fix, so even though it's out of warranty they may still repair it for free.

Ahhh my apologies. I did not know about this issue and clearly didn't read enough of the post. Yo lo siento!!

Called Calgary Jewelers again. Got someone else, they said to bring it by and they will try to coerce Omega into goodwilling service, but no gaurentee. They said to bring just the watch and cards.

That sounds promising. Hopefully, they can make something happen and get you squared away.
