I think I've answered this before? But don't see it here. Funny to read older posts describing photos that have obviously changed!
Sometime in the late 80's, I was collecting cameras as well as watches. I thought "Time Exposure," although more commonly known as a photographic term, was a clever name that combined my passions.
My avatar (and I recall that Uncle Buck recognized it) is the hood ornament of my 1955 Chevrolet Hardtop Sport Coupe.

Oh, my.... I'm not sure if I even want to know how you ended up as Wolfgang Bangzer 馃槑
@Jones in LA...you will know because I will tell you...and you will read it! 馃槻

We (the rotorheads) were sitting around in the squadron building one day coming up with all sorts of nasty, rude and crude callsigns. Someone came up with "Wolfgang Bangzer" and I said, "Oh, my...that's sooooo nasty...that would be a horrible callsign!" BAM! I was immediately dubbed "Wolfgang Bangzer". 馃槻

I find that explanation re-assuring, compared to the alternative explanations that came to mind 馃榾

My nick:

Fer = As it is the abreviation of my actual name, as Will for William.
Seamaster = My first fine watch was a Omega Seamaster 2254 my mother gave me as a present when finishing University.

And the avatar is an hypocampus... as the Omega Logo.

I'm probably the only one old enough to remember the car.
I worked in a gas station in the 60's and loved the 55 because you filled the tank through an obvious door on the side.
Starting in '56 they started hiding them in taillights and I could never remember which one without looking.

Says something about my state-of-mind in the '60's.

Mine was an easy one I went to see Event Horizon at the cinema when it first come out and was definately one to see on the big screen. In the opening credits it had a speedmaster spinning in zero gravity and it stuck in my mind. Not the best of films but it has Sam Neill who is a fantastic actor and the soundtrack was by the Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers who I like very much.

My name means purple troll in Norwegian, it was supposed to be little troll, but I spelt it wrong. The reason I chose it was because it is hard to find a username that has not been taken, so if i have to have a username, I use lillatroll.
The avatar is of my 1969 chronostop driver. When me and my wife were planning our wedding she said she didn't want to wear a ring because she doesn't like wearing rings, so we agreed to buy something else. I bought her a diamond tiffany necklace and she got me the watch, well I looked for it and bought it but you get the picture. I decided that I wanted a ring, so I got both. We are going to celebrate our first wedding aniversery this Wednesday.

Used to have my full name...until a google search made by a client brought up all my watch history. Some time ago on some thread I took a stand on ethical grounds that prompted some member to throw a line at me that was something like "Don't wait for your Nobel Prize on this one...or... you won't be getting a Nobel Prize or maybe you're trying to get a Nobel peace Prize" anyway something on those lines that was funny and quite to the point on my tendency to take stances...So I kindly asked for my name to be switched to Nobel Prize as a gentle reminder to lighten up and back off a little.

My username started as a non-serious one about 10+ years ago to sign up for promotions and the like, kept using it for forums and decided to stay consistent across various forums. The spelling gets some negative connotation these days with data stealing, but it's actually in reference to a band from Vermont.

The avatar is a picture of my other obsessive (and expensive) hobby of craft coffee, in particular, espresso.

One of my biggest obsessions is music. As far as Western classical music goes, J.S. Bach is my all-time favourite. My avatar is a "logo" Bach developed himself, and very cleverly echoes his contrupuntal and Fugal music. The picture below shows the basic logic: he first wrote his initials, then copied and flipped them, then superimposed the two new sets to form an interesting image., added an embellishment on top for good measure Classic illustration of fugue: the new stuff is made from the same ingredients as the old stuff.

My handle used to be Broudie, as I liked the Lightning Seeds way back when I started going on forums, IRC, ICQ, etc, and the name stuck as the default handle when I'm on online communities. Broudie was also my original handle on WUS.

Was always an Omega fan, in fact Omega is the only fine watch brand that has stayed on my wrist for more than a month, but started seriously getting the watch bug shortly after joining WUS in 2014. I bought my first pre-owned watch on the forums from Zack. Buying turned into selling and in under 6 months I found myself opening up an e-commerce site WatchVaultNYC.com (it made total sense, since my background is in e-commerce)

Less than 3 months after that I was doing pretty well and I found myself in a position to give back and sponsor, so in order to avoid confusion ("who am I buying from? Watch Vault NYC? But who's Broudie?"), I decided to change my watch forums handle to "WatchVaultNYC"

The avatar is a picture of a "Moon to Mars" that I once had, posted on Instagram. I know this model is not popular, but I like the way the cheery dial breaks up the monotony.

My avatar is just a couple of my constellations. I should change it to something a bit more interesting.

My username is my BASE number which you can get when you've jumped one of each of the objects in BASE jumping (Building, Antenna, Span and Earth) so theoretically I'm the 615th person to do that although there will be more who've done it and never got a number. I think the numbers are up to about 2000 now.

This is me on the right in the black rig:

I haven't jumped in more than 10 years though. A couple of bad injuries and the wife is not keen to say the least. That said she'd probably encourage me to get back into it if she actually found out the cost of watch collecting.

The name I made up on the spot from nothing, just plucked it out of the air. It now sounds like I am a dense pirate or a construct of blueberry and rhubarb. Can't say I have any love for the name, or those foods, but I am stuck with it. Que sera sera.

As for the avatar, I'm presently reading Fleming's Moonraker, so it's all things Bond at the moment. My next book or whim will determine my next avatar which I frequently change on the whim.

Jeez forget about wanting to change your avatar (which you can't anyway) just change your outdoor interests!

I take it that you have seen this then.

If I recall correctly, UB, just about everyone had a "state of mind" in the 60s didn't they? I no longer have the flashbacks though, so that's a good sign. Now, what is this thing called a car you talk of...

Good eye @flyingout. Yes, that photo was taken at Casino Point
Avalon, Catalina Island. Fun dive. Low degree of difficulty for a shore dive, though the full wetsuits are needed 馃憥. Walking distance. Nice town to see if any of you are visiting SoCal.

I haven't done that dive since 1999. Hope the kelp is healthy.
