You stick around here long enough you learn all kinds of strange things.

I had no idea there are shoe forums...

There sure are. Needless to say, shoe collectors are just as fanatical as watch collectors.

So it's just my name, real name.

That's me wearing soem Vibergs and RGT sitting on top of a flat door from a ship which was HUGE. I was just lying back and looking out into the water.

I haven't owned a pair of Vibergs yet but hope to one day.

I guess it's pretty obvious really, I work frets (less thanI used to, my left hand is a bit busted now) - my avatar is the fingerboard of a mid '50s Strat
Yep! I have to have guitars around me as well.
My user name: I know a lot about guitars and brickwork... but I know nuffink about watches. The good news is, I am learning more everyday by reading the information oresented on this forum.

My Avatars seem to change depending on how I feel each week but Pete and Dud have always made me laugh.

I've been studying Yang style T'ai Chi Ch'uan for 26 years, teaching for about 21. The Avatar is the traditional symbol for T'ai Chi Ch'uan.

I just re-read the post I placed, explaining my avatar. But it made no sense, as it pertained to the first avatar I chose and uploaded. But I have since changed my avatar. In that post, I referred to my playing old-time fiddle in several groups. This replacement avatar was shot at our local historic park one morning when we were playing for a breakfast group. I decided to do a still life shot that reflected a western music theme. My earlier avatar was a quick snapshot of a sculpture of a stylized fiddle which was snapped through the window of a moving bus, at Cremona, Italy, in 2012.

In Ireland, mashed potatoes are often called Pandy and a man who enjoys food and shows the signs of it is called a Pandybelly. A "friend" at work christened me with that moniker.
As for the avatar, it sums up how I feel on every morning I have to get up for work. [emoji30]

Very similar to mine. Was in the Marine Corps who's motto is Semper Fidelis and my nick name was shells cause it's part of my last name. Somehow I combined the two and have been using it ever since.
lol extremely similar

My username comes from the fact that I was a very funny and fresh kid growing up. I loved the show "the fresh prince of Bel Air" and kind of acted liked Carlton. Now I act more like Will Smith. It stuck with me and I added some numbers at the end because I needed to one time long ago to meet the requirement somewhere for a username. The avatar was a logo designed for my brand. It's a play off of the Knight's of the Medieval times and a watch face. The K is also in the logo design. Since my last name is Knight it just really worked out really well as an all encompassing symbol.
What's the price point on the Lancelot? Any design changes? Interesting price

Price is $4,500. No design changes. I have a great video of the movement of Sir Lancelot.

Love this thread as I'm getting to know everyone. My user name is a nickname based on my last name. It comes from McGruff the CrimeDog. Sounds similar to my last name, Krein (rhymes with Stein). KreinDog has morphed into Dogger by many that know me as well.

My picture comes from the fact that the first reponse I read was that without an avatar, no one would respond to my posts, so I took a picture of the first thing I saw...my cat in front of a roaring fire on a post-Christmas evening!

The Maltese Falcon (book and film) is one of my favorites, and I also really like style from the 20s-60s in general. I also like 80s synth music, especially Vangelis, who made "Friends of Mr. Cairo" with Jon Anderson as a tribute to 40s flicks.

Sam Spade seemed too obvious, and perhaps a little too one-dimensional.

Love the movie. The scene where Mr. Cairo takes the fall is one of my favorites. I actually used to use "samspade" as a username in chat forums back in the days.

I've been posting for a little while on WUS under the username "UnfortunateDateWindow". It's too long for here, so I decided to joint-reference DO90 bezels and my location in the suburbs north of New York City.
