So what do we know about Rodania?

Cool to see these watches getting some attention again. Rob, who helped Fratello with the photographs and the article is also here on OF : @bazamu 馃憤

I am looking for a crystal for a Rodania Geometer - if somebody has an idea where to source, I鈥檇 highly appreciate a lead.

Hopefully someone will see Fratello's article and can chime in with actual evidence of the Geometer's conception. A couple of years ago, I tried (unsuccessfully) to get in touch with the company and learn more about it.

It would be great to see if anything more concrete comes forward.

But certainly the aura and folklore surrounding the Geometer stands it in good stead IMHO.
It is blessed with rarity, a wonderful design, and aV72 engine.
Now if only there was a vintage photo of an F1's girlfriend/wife wearing one 馃槦

Picked this up a few weeks ago. Doctor's watch -- unlike a traditional regulator, the big hand is seconds rather than minutes. Same movement as in the Mimo Centric and a very similar GP model. Bravington's was a London jeweller. Some more from Blommen Watch Report

I'm a sucker for an underappreciated brand with an obliterated history, so Rodanias naturally are picked up when I see them.

I have had a number of 'Aquaseal 333ft', a model with excellent proportions, art deco design cues and a lot of features I look for - applied logo, dauphine hands, all stainless, slim and around 36mm. This is the best version I have at present, with splendid numerals and an AS1701 beating away:

I'm also posting this very handsome automatic with 'offset' text, as I haven't seen another and the sunburst dial, totemic dial furniture and hidden crown really make for a winning combination. All for 40 Euros last year! The proportions (37.5mm across and 11mm thick) remind me of Seiko Sportmatics and Sealions from the 60s with similar offset text on the dial.

Some great insights on this thread, thanks to all for posting. One day I hope to find a Geometer!

Interesting thread.
My dad has worn an old Rodania for as long as I can remember. Didn鈥檛 really think much of them until I saw this thread, and had a good look at the watch.

I鈥檓 wearing it as I type! Do they have much of a following/value? (Not that that matters to me)

Here is my dads. Any guesstimates if it鈥檚 age?

My first "nice" watch was a Rodania quartz chronograph two tone I got from my parents when I was 18 (early 90s) after I graduated HS.

I had serviced and with a new battery and I gave it to one of my nephew 3 years ago when he graduated from HS.

Surely not fancy of a watch but with a nice dial, and still better than those crap fashion watches you see around for a 25+ yo watch!

Tbh, not sure he values it much tough lol ... But it is his now to do whatever he wants to 馃榾

Once I see him next, I'll ask for a picture of the watch so I can update this post with it
