I have an RCAF example, and love it. For those interested in the history of RCAF chronographs, I recommend RCAFBuster's excellent book on the topic.

Kind regards,

Myron

1960s 9k Great to wear! Previously I had no knowledge of Rodania, but since recently purchasing this one from a fellow Forum member I am full of admiration for their all round quality.

I just keep asking myself why would I name my brand RODANIA SA and RODANA SA?
Claiming two names ok, but branding?
😵‍💫

Cryptic.

?
Because it's redundant...

I figure it's a way of saying Rodania is from Rodana.

Hi there, new to this forum and not a collector as such but I have a Rodania watch that I inherited many years ago from a Belgian Uncle - found this post whilst trying to research the piece. Your whole thread is fascinating and I wonder if anyone might be able to give me any gen on my watch. It has a serial number - sent that to Rodania themselves, but no reply after a week or so. thanks in anticipation. (By the way looking at many of the above pictures has got me thinking that maybe I need more watches...er, thanks for that temptation!)

Nice group, Faz!

Rodania is one of many smaller, but interesting brands, that help to make collecting so fun and interesting. Here's some further information about the brand's history:

http://www.masterhorologer.com/2009/08/rodania-watches-brand-profile-history.html

They formed a very productive and notable association with professional Cyclists in the 1950s, and continued to market using that association into the '70s, including a line named after Eddy Merckx. Perhaps it even exists today.

I own a couple of their divers, and they are quite nice though not easy to find. Here's an example:

Thank you, very very interesting.

A friend is running the family jewellery business, and they have carried Rodania for decades. He recently told me that the Rodania agency in Canada (at least), is no longer in business. The state of the company internationally........?
