I'm sorry for those who are still waiting, but they really should have gotten in on day one.
I called my AD on day one and was lucky number 13 on the list. I paid my 1k downpayment and was told it'd be about a year.

Mistake number one was going to an AD. In my state we don't have an OB. My AD assured me that Omega would send them Snoopys.

Mistake two was waiting for the release, as I already knew I wanted one. Should have told the OB in the next state over that I wanted one before the release. It was all the talk on OF.

About 6 months or so into the wait I pulled my name off the list because I knew the AD would never get one.

I am a bit miffed by the comment from Omega that everyone who wants one will get one. I think that is what you alluded to when you said Omega promised everyone would get one. But I knew at the time that he was blowing smoke, although I hoped it was true. Then they stopped letting people get on the list. Then they started promising people who bought gold speedys that they could get a snoopy, which is what the OB in Taipei told me a few weeks ago. So they kindof soured me on what was once an uplifting image of Snoopy awards to outstanding NASA employees.

But it's still a cool watch, just not for me.

Omega has definitely had their share of missteps over the years. I recall people on the ST1 wait list being led to believe that they would have priority access to the ST2. That didn't end well.

I'm buying a new FOIS to go with the white and hesalite 3861's, so I'm out of the Snoopy running. For now.

so interesting enough, as I mentioned I got a notice from OB that I do have a snoopy coming, but they haven't called me yet and one showed up new on the aftermarket here, brand new. The price is 10% above the OB retail price. Just some food for thought. but this premium does tell me that here supply and demand and relatively balanced. what are others seeing as premiums? (this is in mainland China)

although granted the prices in mainland are higher than HK by another 10% due to the increased tax. so maybe the delta is higher in other markets?

Well that was very unexpected. Just received the call from my OB and they have a Snoopy in stock ready for me if I want it. I know this truly a first world problem but having (again unexpectedly) received a call for a 321 earlier this year I wasn't planning on another expensive watch purchase for a good while.

I know I should just follow my heart, as I've advised others to do elsewhere on the forum, but I'm genuinely now thrown and torn on this one. On the one hand I think it's a cool and quirky Speedy variant. On the other I'm still questioning how much wear it will get and whether there's a tiny piece of me that would consider buying it, not as a good investment (I know that doesn't really exist in the mass watch world) but rather a sensible "but it shouldn't tank too much value if bought from new".

If I can convince myself I would get enough mileage from it then I suspect I might just go ahead but I would really appreciate the collective views here?

For reference if it helps, also in the rotated collection:
Speedmaster modern 321 Ed White
Seamaster NTTD which gets worn on a variety of straps plus the bracelet
Speedmaster First Omega in Space - special edition in Sedna / leather strap (rarely worn but I love it & Sedna in general)
Globemaster in half Sedna blue dial and bracelet
Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT (Pepsi equivalent bezel)
Have also taken a punt on the Fratello VPC 37 in blue which is due November, which I hope will become my default daily beater (Tudor fulfils this more than any others at present).
If you don’t get it you’ll regret it trust me. And please dont compare any Tudor to snoopy 😂

Ha ha, the Tudor has since been moved on anyway, and as you'll see from the rest of this thread, Snoopy was purchased and is now a much loved part of the collection 😎
