I like the color scheme. Not a fan of the caseback though. Overall I think there's not much originality in the design. That's probably why there wasn't any teaser prior to the release.

Cool watch. Priced so that buyers need to think hard about whether it’s for them. For me, it seems a little expensive relative to the Ed White.

I think it's priced a bit too aggressively to be optimal. For those that are really on the fence on this, I think the price will likely swing closer to no more often than not.

But I'm sure they've done their focus groups and probably know they can still fill up demand with price inelastic buyers who absolutely love the watch.

I think it will increase in price as Omega chases Rolex into the higher-end luxury market through the introduction of a more sophisticated product. The fact that it’s not an LE is immaterial. Rolex doesn’t do LEs but that hasn’t stopped GMT, Submariner, Daytona models from going ballistic. This watch is arguably better than those.

Think price is sign of things to come. I think they will change the Speedmast Professional in near term to add the 3861 and raise that price significantly. I think days of 1861 are numbered.

Pretty much my thoughts 👍
What is the point? A watch is still meant to be worn at the end of the day so "cool" casebacks have always been underwhelming for me. I do like the dial, will look good on the wrist.

Never be bored on the toilet ever again.

Unless Omega took a trick from the JLC Reverso, I can't see too many taking their watch off while engaged on said toilet so they can marvel at the automata on the back. It's a nice touch but a bit of a bind that part of what makes it unique is not visible on the wrist. I suppose that is the same for display backs too though.

I like it, I'll be getting one. Simple dial, not to busy and clustered. Wish it had more lume like the 45th. Case back adds for a cool story. With the caseback, it makes sense that Omega went with the strap with and tang buckle instead of a bracelet or deployant strap, makes it easier to see the caseback. I can see how this isn't for everyone, but can't make everyone happy.

The movement is described like this:
Powering the watch is the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 - the most recent update of the legendary Moonwatch movement. It took 4 years to produce a calibre that could achieve Master Chronometer certification, while also matching the dimensions of the previous Moonwatch movement - the 1861.

I think this is a clear statement that 1861 is discontinued.

Does it mean we will soon have only speedies with proper sub-second indices? 😁

A bit too pricy for me, but I really love the design

I don't know how much lume it has. But looking at it I can tell what it does have. If lume was overly done, it would have been emphasized. Only lume I see are on the hour makers and the hands. The bezel doesn't have lume as the description says blue ceramic with white enamel.
