The slow purge continues and today I am listing my Smiths PRS-36 known as the “Vintage cushion” by Timefactors.

This was from before Eddie was a titan of the microbrand industry and was just making cool watches in the vintage styles he liked. This watch was discontinued a few years ago and they don’t come up for sale often.

This cushion is pulled directly from the Smiths archives but rather than the chrome plated 31mm of the original he brought it up to a more contemporary 37mm and did it in polished stainless.

The dial is spectacular with its linear brushing, sunken, snailed sub-second and lumed Arabic numerals. The hands are blued which go black in low light and pop brilliant blue in sunlight- a nice contrast against the luminova tinted yellow/green to mimic the hue of the radium used in the 40’s.

Exhibition back which shows the manually wound Peseux movement.

Tech specs from Timefactors:

CASE
• 316L stainless steel, all polished
• 37mm cushion case
• Lug to lug height 44.8mm
• Thickness 10.5mm to top of crystal
• Lug spacing 20mm
• Anti-magnetic 4800 A/m
• Water resistance 50 metres/165 feet
• Weight 60 grammes including strap
• Screw view back (K1 glass)

DIAL
• Brushed silver with luminous hour markers
• Luminous: SuperLuminova C3

HANDS
• Vintage style skeleton hands, luminous filled
• Luminous: SuperLuminova C3

CRYSTAL
• Double-domed bombé sapphire with anti-reflective coating on the underside. 32.5mm x 1.4mm

MOVEMENT
• Peseux 7040 (Swiss Made) decorated with Geneva stripes, 17 jewels hand-winding running at 21.600 BPH

STRAP
• Black half-quilted leather strap with signed buckle

Watch comes with the original quilted strap and fishtail buckle (which in itself is a work of art) showing very little wear.

Showing it on a much slimmer chestnut calf and Forstner Bonklip to illustrate how much of a chameleon this watch is- it can take on many characters.

And because it’s C3 luminova the glow is sensational

Watch comes full kit

I’m asking $425 shipped CONUS, if you are out of the US we can figure out the costs. PayPal F&F or add 3% for standard PayPal, Zelle and Venmo can also work.

Feel free to ask any questions.

I feel like 9 minutes from post to sale might be a record?

So if we are going by when I got the “I’ll buy it” it was 1 min. To the time I changed to OHPF after I confirmed he wanted it was 9….so is that a record? Can it be?

Oh so you want to make this a contest? Just you wait. I'll lose my shirt before I allow you to hold this record for long.

I may regret it, but I know where it’s gonna live so I could have visitation rights.

That's been my singular approach to ex-wives.

Lovely watch congrats to both buyer and seller.
The originals were in a rather nice Dennison solid silver case and were presentation watches to employees of ICI, this from 1947/8, just sayin....
