Got my first modern SMITHS today. After hearing about their models, I've kinda liked them but the smaller and massive watches just didn't appeal to me so much. Fast forward a half a year and I'm decidedly on the Vintage Watch Kick. It's got a those classic dauphine hands, textured minute track, and golden hardware on that delicious royal blue dial. My only issue is that's is so highly polished that my dirty fingerprints keep messing up the luster. 😁

Needs some resizing as the bracelet is huge, but with screwed-in links, it should be easy peasy.

Thank you for looking.

Very pretty. I was wondering when someone was going to do a modern Polerouter. Glad Eddie Platts was the guy to do it.

That is really sharp. Looking forward to seeing it in person.

As if on command, I got an extra 2-slot travel case! lol It will certainly be making the journey with us.

This is just the royal blue. That's just dust!

I probably would have gotten that one if it had gold hardware. This blue/gold combo is just as, if not more, amazing in person than in photos.

My bad!
Your color way does look great. Been keeping an eye on these Smiths and they are all very appealing but have been trigger shy so far. The vintage aesthetic and sizes (more or less), modern build plus reasonable price make them a compelling package. Came close with the Everest but have something similar, couldn’t decide on what color Jenny/Caribbean diver and missed out there, and so on. It’s going to be hard to resist the next run of these Trans Globals though!

Aye, and the bracelet taper looks particularly sexy.
Please tell me this isn't over 36mm diameter?

It's like the illegitimate offspring of a vintage UG Polerouter and Breitling Transocean. 😁

Listed as 38mm, 41mm at the crown but I can get a real measurement if you like ... that was one of the reasons I went with it as I wasn't fond of smaller watches when I started looking (now I'll wear a 6/0 Hamilton, go figure) but I like my modern watches on the larger size.

They look similar -- the big tell is the gold hardware. The adventurtine only came in silver for some reason. I guess they wanted it to play with the silver sparkle in the rock. Still, that one sold out oven faster so I'm glad I went directly for the royal. I too really liked the Everest but it felt a little small for a modern watch, even as an homage but my tastes have changed coming around to the vintage side a bit more, and I'd definitely entertain one in a future round. 😀

Lovely watch. I believe there is a salmon dial version too which looks great.

Yes, he released about 6 or 7 variants this last round. 3 blues, salmon, black, white, and something else iirc. Nice watches with a good feel.

Someone posted pics in their Facebook group on a single stich leather that looked great too.
