SM 2576-8 strap options

Hi all,

I'm just trying to get some ideas of straps / bracelets for my Seamaster. I'm kind of using it as a utility watch, I want to be able to wear it with a suit but also casual so I might be looking for a brown leather strap and possible a bracelet too to change up when necessary. I have a couple of vintage dress watches and a modern Seamaster and Speedy but find I don't just want to save my dress watches for special occasions, I want to wear them at other times too - I feel the 2576-8 is a good happy medium and a versatile watch.

Would you be so kind to offer / show off your strap combinations? Is a vintage BOR a rabbit hole I want to go down...?

Thank you.

a brown leather strap would be my first choice too; btw, that's a nice looking SM you got there 👍

I have ordered the 18mm Uncle Seiko flatlink, which I am certain will look fantastic on one of these.

This is a slightly different Seamaster, but a strap similar to this one would suit yours too and look pretty 'period correct' too:

Thanks @alam ! Bought it off a member on here a couple of years ago. Definitely agree, not a fan of the natos. I might pick up a dark brown strap for smarter occasions, will have a look around. @ConElPueblo i had a look on US’s site but would probably look for a 5 bead BOR if I was going for a causal bracelet - I think through research a 1036/511 combo is correct? Not sure if there’s others. Might put a ‘wanted’ post on here or search aftermarket options. Cheers for the suggestions both.

Hi @Hamish02 , I also like to try and dress vintage watches down to enjoy them also during the week and without having to wait for a special occasion to appear so I can wear the watch.

This strap by Pebro (german company) can easily be found in Europe. I am assuming based on your post that you are located in North America but maybe will be some sort of inspiration. It is very standard and for sure you will be able to find something similar or better there.

You could wear this with I think almost any casual shirt or garment.

My 2846, a not so distant relative:

Best,

Rudi

Rudi's looks good to me. Much better than the two-stitch.

That’s a lovely example you have there. Thanks for the inspiration, I’m actually UK based so I might take a look at what they have to offer. To be honest, anything of good quality I’ll take a look at, not interested in those cheapo things they flog on eBay (the one it’s on atm is actually from there but I think I was lucky and it’s too casual to dress up a bit of required).

Cool, then it should be very easy for you and I am glad to leave you two links (as the website I purchased this from is german). Two different colours too.

So called mid-brown (mine):

https://www.uhrenarmband-versand.de/Uhrenbandversand-p46736h5245s5293-Uhrenarmband-18mm-mi.html

So called dark-brown:

https://www.uhrenarmband-versand.de/Uhrenbandversand-p46734h5245s5293-Uhrenarmband-18mm-du.html

They cost each around 22€, so in my opinion a great value for money!

Unfortunately you cannot place an order on the manufacturer website as they take only orders for stores. But through this website I sent you it should be no problem. I checked and they also ship to UK.

Best,

Rudi

So... thank you all for the info and ideas but in the end I actually went for a Watch Gecko strap; UK based an reasonably priced. And here it is:

I think it will work casually and dressy so both of best worlds. Whilst I was on the site I actually bought one of their BOR butterfly bracelets as well, just need to find some curved end links and I have the bracelet option too!

Cheers,
H

The Omega end link for the five-row 3010 or 1502 or whatever is 511. In the United States, that is about $90.

Thanks, yes there’s absolutely nothing going for 511, 512, 514 or whatever other variation they’re named online atm, not even aftermarket alternatives. You wouldn’t happen to know the serial number for the end links would you? It’s sometimes easier searching that.

You don’t need that. Have your jeweler or watchmaker call Omega and order for you.

Thanks, I had a similar issue with my AD before, phoned them up to order a 1125/617 but they said they couldn’t do it; emailed them with the serial number and got it ordered straight away!

I am real fan of Toshi straps. A bit more expensive but you can have it how you like it. I have two and no regrets!

Excellent! That is a "reference number". Serial numbers are always unique to an item.
