I blame James Bond. I mean seriously, a dive watch with the tuxedo? Shameful!
Pierce Brosnan completely pulled it off, though.

I think a sailcloth strap works better with a dive watch than leather. Here's an Artem strap on a BB58 for an idea

Its an entry level watch anyways, so you may wear it on a rubber band or a pice of string

I thought the string was bad, but now we're putting these on rubber bands??!?
I still prefer dead animal skin over string.

Per a recent study* of 59 strap materials, it was found that cats greatly prefer string.

That seems to fit the theme here at Omega forums pretty well, I think everyone would agree!

My wife would tell you Pierce Brosnan could wear a chicken carcass on a zip tie around his wrist and that would be 'just perfect', so I am not sure that is a good argument. 😀

I think the smp looks great on rubber, fabric, leather, whatever. And depending on your 'business', a white rubber strap might be just fine.

It is a dive watch, steel/rubber only. Thus, wear it correctly at the weekend.

In work if you can’t hack it get a work watch to suit.

All the pictures above are just wrong.

Admin - close the thread, no more to discuss here. 😉
I don't always dive, but when i do… I’m one of the lucky that still has the dexterity to change a strap. Plenty of watches and even more strap options. I’m convinced the SMPc blue can run in a business casual format without the rubber (no suit required), just need to find the right match. Those with photo suggestions have been very helpful. Impressed how great the aqua terra rubber fits - might go that route. Many thanks everyone!

I like this grey suede strap. It's very business casual, matches the colorway of the OP's watch, and will also go with just about any business casual outfit choice.

That caught my attention too. Not sure if the glossy dial of the new gen SMP will detract…

I don't know, I think the textures might work really well.

For business casual at the office, just wear it on the bracelet unless you personally dont like how it looks with your outfit.

In that case, I 2nd the sailcloth suggestion.

For reference, this is the watch dial:

I know anything goes these days…but…I would never put a leather band on this watch. Not for dress code “rules”, just because IMO it just looks strange and out of place on a diver watch head. It is not a dress watch and never will be and honestly they look weird when someone tries to dress them up. I have yet to see one on leather and think “Oh…nailed it, looks great”.

To each their own, and again I know old rules are gone, but it’s an odd combination. I wear mine on weekends/evenings/outdoor activities, etc.

I never found it to be comfortable with a dress shirt/sport coat and always have issues with it not sliding nicely under my cuff.

Go with rubber for your business casual needs, it looks WAY better than leather on this watch IMO.

I'm curious if you believe this about GMT watches that have a 24 hour bezel.

For the most part yes, but it depends on the reference/design. Again all a matter of personal taste.

I do not own a Rolex Batman, but if I did I definitely would not put a leather band on it….but that is just me, I’m sure there are people that love it.

Then again…WTF do I know I’m turning 60 this year so my brain is chock full of useless trivia and old habits that die hard. You do you, it’s a brave new world and almost anything goes.

If Kanye’s woman Bianca whatever can go to a party naked and we see it in the media I guess the watch band doesn’t mean jack sh**! 😏

That's because most current Rolex watches look like total garbage on straps. Most Omegas look pretty good on strap or bracelet.
