I just dropped him an email about international shipments. Let's hope he receives international shipments. Fingers crossed! 👍

Sounds good. It is always good news to know there is another watchmaker that we can trust with our watches. STS will carry on as all good organisations do and I hope that Simon will build on his already good reputation and that his business will be successful. I'll certainly be looking on with interest and probably sending some stuff over. I guess he'll be at Southend and with STS in Hawkwell, Essex looks like it's becoming the centre of the vintage Omega world.

I took my '65 speedy over to STS today as it's been running a little fast since its service and spoke to Kieren. Have to say it was a good experience and very like the couple of times I spoke to Simon when the watch first went in. Looks like the company ethos stays the same :0)

Great to know there are more options now for vintage servicing in Essex - Living in the next town over sure makes it nice and easy.

Just a thought but shows do tend to go on and work ethos can continue, vacuums fill and as some have eluded to the work of STS will go on. Until recently I did not know who Simon and have been quite happy in my ignorance not knowing who has been working on my watch. I have no doubt that STS will be as good as ever and at the same time wish only the best for someone doing what is in their heart for which they have a passion. Again, as has been mentioned the luxury of choice is there and Simon will still be doing the same great work.

Gosh, that was a classic. A car crash in slow motion where one could not look away.

Glad you remembered mate.

You Got the infamous "potty mouth" tag across several forums in this one how could I forget 😉

I'm waiting on a watch that was expected back from STS last week, then they said this week, but still no word.

I have made the pilgrimage to STS from California at least three times since November. I usually work directly with Tony as all of my STS work to date has involved Megaquartz watches. This most recent visit--three weeks ago-allowed me to spend and extended amount of time with Simon. Needless to say, talking to Simon was a great experience and I can attest that he is a passionate watchmaker and I wish him all the best.

Based on what I have seen at STS, it seems that they are still well positioned for future work--there has been significant remodeling in the workshop area since my November visit, the watchemakers that I observed were very attentive, and they have the equipment to take on just about any job. I would have no problem sending any of my watches to STS.

Just had a re-read - a real forum favourite 😁

Love the post where @STANDY mentions the upside-down markers ::psy::::psy::

Update: Simon takes international shipments. However, you have to arrange your own shipping, to and fro his workshop. I highly recommend using Fedex under Repair/Return with Direct Signature, meaning Simon himself will personally sign for your watches. Also, do remember to keep a copy of the airway bill and customs declaration forms so that you can get a refund of any import taxes from your respective governments when the watch gets returned to you.

I've a Military Seamaster 300 and a 105.012 with him. So I guess, rest assured? However none of which needs parts...

Lots of people have... rather than speculate/hear things 3rd/4th hand, drop him an email and ask any questions directly... 😉
