Not all dealers own or even have all of the watches they offer for sale 👎 If it has a long "ship time" chances are they will just try to find it once an order comes in.

If you want to come to the San Diego screening, I can hook you up. PM me if interested.
If only it wasn't 2 hours away.... errr. Thanks for the invite though. Very much appreciated!!!

It had three offers, the one that did it was for 10K. I don't think he was a collector.

2 hours on a Tuesday afternoon/evening? You have very high hopes. 😁

I really wanted to attend the cocktail reception but it looks like I'll be spending Tuesday evening in lovely Los Banos, CA (which could be translated as "the toilets", though a more charitable translation would be 'the bath-spas'). Hmmm...which would I prefer...? The Toilets, or sipping champagne among charming people and sparkling watches..? I'm still hoping we can get to the Spectre screening the following week 😀
Richard,
Feel free to send Mrs. Jones to the cocktail reception. Elena and I would be glad to entertain her in your absence.

Wow... that's surprising. Apparently money was no object to that fella.

It seems there at least 1971 people that want this watch. 20+% over list. Jeez.

Says "Best Offer Accepted" now... wonder what he took for it... pretty bad form for any collector though
I am still new to all this but how does form come into it? Guy 1 buys a LE watch and decides to sell it immediately for a profit to Guy 2 who pays over list for it. That watch is now worth $10,000 to both Guys. Guy 2 will likely sit on it for a few years or forever, unworn in its shiny box, either enjoying looking at it or to sell.
I will wear mine - still nervous about wearing a near £5000 watch out and about but if people happily wear Submariners then this should be ok.

Reminds me of the Ferrari objective to always build one less car than the market demands. Someone must always be left wanting.

I guess its a bit like ticket scalping, or what happened with SS Daytonas at their peak, I just find it pretty sad to see.

So question for my friends on the forum: I just got the 2015 Snoopy. I put a deposit down the second it came out and literally sat outside my boutique waiting for it. I wore it a couple of times but decided to put it in the safe deposit box for the time being. I am considering selling it, but am curious as to what a home run would look like on this. I tend to agree with forum members that 10% over retail is fair, but I didn't buy it to sell it. I am only thinking about selling it if I can get an obscene price for it. I think my I would sell it price is probably still too high (well over 10k) but I am curious as to whether the forum thinks the market would support it given that there are only 1970 and the boutiques are reporting that the high rollers are pissed that they didn't get it. The problem is I am not aware of any watches that are this popular and this limited. Thoughts?

Isn't that what auctions with a reserve price are for?

Let the market decide.

If someone is willing to pay that then you should grab it with both hands and run. The majority of members on here are watch enthusiasts and hopefully treat such practices with contempt and on principle would refuse to pay silly money for it.

Well, considering there are some regular sellers here who offer ~40% off retail prices for brand new Omegas, I'd say I'd pay that for a Silver Snoopy were one to become available.

Only one way to find out. eBay, $0.99 to start, no reserve.
