Sadly, I turned it down. I liked the watch but didn't love the watch. I buy watches to wear and this one would have just sat in my closet. I struggled with decision but not the first collector watch I've turned down and won't be my last. Anyways the Omega Boutique took my money for the first batch of CK2998s arriving in July - that one I'm REALLY looking forward to. Plus I'm near top of the list for the new Rolex Daytona ceramic bezel in white (I've been told I should be "having a nice xmas gift") - so 2016 will see some nice arrivals to my collection.

Let's not forget 2017 Basel. 2017 is the 60th anniversary of the Speedmaster! You don't think Omega won't go all out with another limited edition? CK2915?

Well, the first time I saw the Snoopy I didn't like the "failure is not an option". I also didn't like the, "what can you do in 14 seconds". Even Deadpool would ask, "Deal! What do we do with the remaining two minutes thirty-seven seconds? - cuddle..."

My OB wont take a deposit for my #4 spot on the list for the CK-2998, which makes me mad because they said if they have a customer that spends tens of thousands per year there then that person will get the watch first, no matter where I am on the list. I should have called Nima's OB when I could have been #2 on their list and paid my deposit.

I passed on getting a Spectre SM 300MC and the AT Bond with coat of arms as they didn't do it for me, and I passed on the X-33 Solar Impulse because I was worried that the blue and green color scheme might make me go out and buy some leg warmers from the '80's to go with it. But I still want a Speedyorite Limited Edition to go with my POLMLE and Snoopy, and I'd like to have the original Snoopy someday as well.

That's quite the wish list, even with your already extensive collection. Which one of those will be the most difficult to acquire, the Speedyorite?

I'm not sure. I've never seen one for sale, because as long as I don't search for one then I can't buy it.

Here let me help you out then. Not an enabler at all...

I hate you right now, because I bought 2 MORE NEW Omegas this week for myself and my son, to have matching watches when I give him his for his high school graduation next month, and I spent enough to buy the Speedyorite instead. I MUST STOP BUYING WATCHES or I have to dip into the college fund. If I do that my wife will kill me and sell the watches to pay for 3 kids in school.

Great answer... I'm in the same camp as you.. I buy to wear not to collect. The ones that are 'collectors editions' of anything are rarely overly collectable long term anyway...
If you're in a position to buy these watches, I would hope that your financial future does not depend on the resale of watches...

Agreed
Unless you are collecting and buying/selling old Pateks or Paul Newman Daytonas or some other extremely high end exotic type watch - the chances of making any money is slim.

Does anyone know if all Snoopy has been produced and delivered to OB? I reserved one and was told I will get the last one in the country. I'm still following up but they keep telling me it's not here yet. Am I getting the run around?
