Great photos and a nice read but " long-term " ?
One year is barely a long-term period as high-end wrist watches should be pieces of longevity par excellence, passed on to the next generation!
IMHO the best Speedies are early to mid-1990s with 861 movement... bought mine in 1994, worn as a daily beater, it ran without any problems until July 2016, when it needed its first (and thus far only) service as I couldn't wind it any longer...that's 22 years !
3861 ? Well the future will tell ...
Of course, as I enjoy "vintage" I'm a bit biased but don't forget:
