Well the San Diego, CA Boutique just gave me the call. I was on the official waiting list and am glad I somehow squeezed in. Paid the full deposit and should pick up the watch on Friday. Best early Christmas ever.

Congratulations @sensui your diligence paid off. Good for you. Just don't tell @Omegawd, he's been waiting with full deposit paid for 6+ months (but he did ask for a specific #).

Finally got the call from the OB, and my Silver Snoopy has arrived. When I put in the order 10 months ago, I requested a specific #. The OB said they would request that # from the factory, but would not guarantee delivery of that #. Here is a hint of my # request:

The box came in a bit bigger that I expected (with all accessories that you have seen in previous posts):

And luckily I got my requested # (the slash between 10 and 05 is just reflection, not marked on the watch!):

The (Houston) OB said that they got 5 of these, and could have sold another 20. They said that if I wanted to sell it, they have customers who were willing to pay extra for it. No thanks, this is a keeper for me.

Obligatory wrist shot:

Additionally this morning I was playing with the chronograph, and came up with an idea to use the chronograph to add day-of-week, month, and day on the watch (well kind of):

1. Chrono second hand for day-of-week : 1 or 7 =Mon, 2 or 8 = TUE etc. 6 or 12 = weekend
2. Chrono hour hand for month 1-12
3. Chrono minute for day 1-30, use 30.5 for 31st

So I set the watch for Monday, January 25th to remind me of a to-do on that date, but afterwards plan to play with the chrono daily ...

Cheers!

I wore mine the other evening to a black-tie event and have to say it goes very well with evening dress (tux and dickie bow). The only issue I have is that with a fairly slim wrist I am on the last hole and the strap is nowhere near as comfortable as the Speedy bracelet.

I have had my Silver Snoopy a little over a month, I got it Dec. 18th. I put down my deposit the first part of April. My only gripe about the watch is that the small second hand is in white which makes it very hard to see on a white dial.
I wish the hand was black which would make it easier to see and it would then also match the other hands.

Otherwise I LOVE the watch!

I agree the second hand doesn't match the other two, minute and hour counters. However I think it works well in white because otherwise for half the time it would be spoiling Snoopy as a black line passing across him. And surely if you are timing something to the second you would use the sweep chrono hand.

Omega does that pretty often, that is, the chrono hands are a 'set' and the time telling hands are a 'set'. So hour, min and sweep seconds will be one colour and chrono seconds, hour and minute subdials will be another.

So it's easier to tell at a glance which you're looking at..

I have been offered a brand new Snoopy from Omega Boutique at retail price $7,350. I have Daytona, Seamaster 300 Spectre, standard Moonwatch Professional. I have the blue panda CK2998 confirmed. Clearly I don't "need" the Snoopy. It'd be nice though. Should I or shouldn't i?

No one "needs" any watch. We want them. If you love it, buy it. I think it's a great looking watch, and enjoy mine. I also feel there is a long term appreciation potential here. I say go for it but I'm a little biased. 😁

What do you mean 'offered'? This has had waiting lists as long as your arm. Unless they only just got theirs and you were top of the list (you dont mention if you were on the waiting list)

I was not on any official waiting list but the boutique manager knows that I like watches without date feature. another client passed on the watched and she gave me first option before they went to their waiting list
