·Posting this update here, while I consider whether a general warning/apology post is wise.
My OmegaForums account was compromised last month. I just got control of it back today. A scammer took control and was responding to adverts (mostly on April 22nd) looking to scam people. I have not posted, commented or messaged anyone since at January 15th. If you were corresponding with this account since then my sincere apologies.
It looks like the mods caught the scammer in time, blocked this account, and from the messages I can see, it looks like no real damage was done. Still, it was very careless security on my part. My sincere apologies to the mods for the inconvenience and any upset caused.
In happier news I got a job a month or so after I bought the Snoopy. So I am back being a responsible adult with too many watches.
Welcome back. Shit happens, glad no harm was done. Was it a shared password compromised elsewhere? Good reminder for all not to reuse credentials, if so! And if not... good reminder anyway.
Glad the Snoopy worked out too, I was in the "don't buy it, too risky" camp but happy to have been wrong in this case.
