So are you going to wear it?? The only thing worse than paying a huge premium imo is doing so, then leaving it sat in a box.

It's a new watch, if you scratch up the bezel etc Omega will exchange it at service.

Of course, I am going to wear it, but it's not going to be my daily. I have gotten used to being very careful wearing watches. The watches in my collection are in great condition.

Omega doesn't fix scratches and dents in service like the way Rolex does. I serviced my previous Speedy through the boutique and it was given back to me in fairly the same condition except for the movement being fixed as it was running slow and not lasting 48hrs on full winding.

I actually don't regret paying grey market prices as there were only 2 for sale in the whole of Australia, this one being a few 1000$ cheaper than the other. There is no other way I could have got this watch.

Was this a warranty service or did you have to pay for it?

I had to pay AU$1200 for the service as it was 7 years old and outside of warranty. For that price, I expected them to have replaced the bezel as it had small but noticeable wear on close inspection. Quiet a rip-off.

Not really IMO, hesalite, hands, crown and almost all parts of the movement are standard (incl. polishing) but everything else is extra/optional.

I'v never had an Omega serviced in Aus but in the UK Omega are generally quite willing to work with you on what work is required (to a certain extent!). Case refinishing and bezel replacement is always offered as an option in every exchange I've had.

After all the guilt I had in having to spend excess in the grey market, I finally bought it. I absolutely love it. The way it looks makes me want to baby it too much. Wearing it would be a stress fest to try to avoid even the slightest of scratches. The only problem is that the blue strap is too stiff. Unfortunately, it was a very rainy day, and even though the box was placed in plastic wrapping in the bag, there are minute dried wet stains on the cardboard box. Obsessive-compulsive me is even affected by those tiny stains on the cardboard covering despite the actual box inside being unaffected!

Well done...enjoy the watch in good health.

BTW, if you like the look of the OEM strap but prefer something more comfortable, Aaron Bespoke makes a Saffiano leather strap that's super comfy right out of the box and looks almost identical.

After reading the above posts, I am filled with guilt about paying this scalped price. It's not just about investment. I love this watch. I am considering flipping my fairly new IWC green Pilot chronograph 41mm on a leather strap to save a few $1000s so I don't feel so guilty and spend slightly less. Or maybe I might just forget it completely.
I have the exact same mindset on this piece as you and have been exhausting all efforts to get on the waitlist with no avail visiting multiple OBs. I refuse to spend that much over retail on a non-limited edition. I have accepted the fact that the door is closed for me to purchase at retail but would rather wait and see what pops up in the coming years. I would not be surprised to see the price of these keep sliding down especially since they are strill actively delivering them to the waitlist.

But either way, congrats on the piece. Looks great on the wrist and I am indeed very jealous!
